Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Just a couple of thoughts from yesterday.....

Yesterday was a very sad day for the entertainment industry. :sad1: I knew Farrah Fawcett by name, but I have never seen Charlie's Angels or any of the movies she was in. I have been following her story for the past few months and was greatly saddened by her death. :sad1:

Michael Jackson....MJ was a huge part of my growing up years. My mom used to listen to the Jackson Five albums all the time. When I got older, I started listening to his solo music. Songs like Bad, Smooth Criminal, Bille Jean, Beat It, and Thriller were played on my tape player every day.

Although I have not been a fan of his for several years, I was shocked and saddened by his loss. :sad1: It's almost like a part of my childhood died yesterday. Does that make sense? I'm not trying to be overly dramatic, but he was a big part of my growing up years. I used to have his posters on my wall and I listened to his music everyday.

I pray that Farrah and MJ rest in peace and that the Lord would give their families His love and strength at this difficult time.

Well said Tracy- not a fan lately but who could dispute the talent he had.Ah the 80s- there will never be another decade like it- we had fun!

Sad about Farrah too.Many boys(DH included) had her poster on their walls!

I had a MJ sticker in my room from the J5

Thanks Linda. :hug: The 80s were such a great time and MJ was a huge part of it! I was not a fan of his in his later years, but no one can deny the impact he had on music and on pop culture as a whole.

Sad about Farrah too.

Farrah's death is very sad too. She battled cancer for so long. :sad1:

Many boys(DH included) had her poster on their walls!

My DH had that poster too! (Even though he claims that it was his brother's poster. LOL! ;) )

Okay...Our 13 year old dog got skunked!!!:eek: It happened about 1:00 a.m. this morning (when stores are closed!:rolleyes:) and we spent about two hours trying to get the scent off of her. We used tomato juice, lemon juice, vinegar, e.t.c. She doesn't smell as bad as she did, but we'll need to get something from the pet store to take care of the rest of the smell. Yikes!:scared1:

Today's Plan:

* SR
* De-skunk the dog
* Trip to Aldi's
* Work on budget :headache:
* Walk
* Work for DH
* Cut the grass

We're thinking of doing a "No Buy July" here. We haven't been watching our budget very carefully lately. :( Gotta get back on track as soon as possible!

That's about all from here...Have a great Saturday!:hug:

Our dog is feeling much better and smells much better too!:dogdance: We did some research online and found a product called Pure Ayre that worked wonderfully! It's all natural and has a light, minty scent to it. She still has a little bit of skunk scent on her, but that will go away with the Pure Ayre spray and time.

Not much going on today..We got the grass cut and the grocery shopping done yesterday so today is more of a kick back and do what you want to day. We will work on the budget at some point, but that's all we really have scheduled.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!:hug:

We've had a nice, relaxing day here. In a few minutes, we'll go for a walk and then call it a day by watching some home movies from when our girls were little at WDW.

I really need to get my act together. The past few weeks have been a bit chaotic and not at all organized. :( I just can't seem to find the motivation to get things done. If anyone knows where my motivation is please let me know. ;)

Have a great evening WISHers!:grouphug:

We have a busy day ahead of us that includes cleaning the kitchen, shredding paperwork (that stuff piles up fast!), going to the library, and getting some school work done. I'll also be helping my DH with some work stuff as well.

Speaking of work, we could use some good thoughts/prayers today. Usually, the week before the 4th is slow for my DH. Not so this year. (Thank God!:goodvibes) However, he double booked himself this week for two separate projects. We're hoping he can do one of them today because he doesn't have anything going on. If not, we have some stress on our hands. Good thoughts, prayers, :wizard: much appreciated!

Well, I need to get moving into my day...Have a great Monday!:grouphug:

Hey Wish Sis, I missed you! Just got caught up with you. I was in Disney Quest having lunch when my brother called about Farah Faucet, I always really liked her, and yes I watched Charlie's Angles all the time (alhtough she was hardly in that show)! Then later we were in Epcot walking into Japan and my brother calls again about Michael Jackson. What a tragic, sad ending to a tragic, sad life. I loved his early stuff too, especially Off the Wall and Thriller. They were playing all his music around WDW, the lifeguards at OKW played a bunch of his stuff on Saturday at the pool and to see mom's dancing to the music of their childhood while the kids danced too was kind of sweet. But boy, he was messed up. So that's my take!

Oh yeah, then I come home and see Billy Mays died. :sad2:

You have been one busy lady as always and I am so glad you got your ADR's. I hope you like Turf Club, its probably about the most understated place in WDW but that's why I like it. Don't forget the lava cake!!!:cloud9:

Hope today was a good one.

Welcome Back, Amy!:hug:

Yesterday was a good day. We got the kitchen and living room 95% clean. We hope to get the rest finished today.

No real big plans for the day...Some DISing, some SRing, some work for my DH, some cleaning, and maybe some Disney planning. We're 75 days away from our trip and it seems like it's so far away.........

I was kind of proud of myself yesterday...I ate 3 meals yesterday and that was it. No snacking at all! :goodvibes I can't remember the last time that happened. If I could do that everyday, I'd probably lose some weight! LOL!:laughing:

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!:grouphug:

Poor dog Tracy!!! glad you got rid of the smell!!!

if you think 75 days are a long way off - take a look at my countdown!!! your sure to feel better ;)

looks like we got some of your lovely weather - not quite 90 but lovely & warm :goodvibes
pity i've got to spend the evening in the gym :upsidedow

Poor dog Tracy!!! glad you got rid of the smell!!!

We're glad too! ;) Although, it is raining today and I guess the damp weather is bringing the scent out a bit. :scared: Good thing we still have the Pure Ayre spray!:goodvibes

Sorry about that, Tracey.:blush: Your countdown is further away than mine. A WDW vacation is worth the wait, but I WISH it would hurry up already!;) I bet you do too. :hug:

I'm glad that you have some nice weather out your way! Maybe you can enjoy it after the gym.

Quick post...

I saw on the Budget Board where Target is having a sale on The Jonas Brothers The Concert Experience and Princess Protection Program DVDs. Essentially, they are on sale for $15.99/each. Plus, I had a $10 off coupon if you bought both movies AND Target gave you a $10 gift card. How's that for a deal?!?!? We did the deal twice...One set are gifts, the other set we'll sell on eBay and we have $20 in Target gift cards to boot!! AWESOME!!!:woohoo:

Just in time too because my DH and I are trying to do a NO Buy July since we spent way too much money in June. Our goal is to get as many $0 spending days as possible. Here's hoping! ;)

Have a great evening!:grouphug:

Atta girl, get those purchases in before the stroke of midnight!

Glad your dog is smelling better. And good job on no snacking!

Thanks Amy.:hug:

It it so dreary here! :( It seems like fall instead of summer. I hope the weather warms up for the holiday weekend. :wizard:

Today's Plan:

* SR
* Work for DH
* Homeschooling (spelling, language)

Right now, I am having homemade pasta salad for breakfast. It has protein (mozzarella cheese, pepperoni), tomatoes, onions, wheat noodles, and a small amount of Italian dressing. Not the best choice, but somewhat healthy.:goodvibes

Hope everyone has a great day today!:grouphug:

Sounds pretty healthy to me! Especially since is whole wheat pasta.

I hope the weather warms up for you. Its been a weird spring all around. We are off the charts with rain but finally warming up. I hope you do too!

Have a great evening.:)

Thanks Amy.:hug:

Yesterday was a long day. :( Both my DH and I had long days...Here's hoping today is a much better day!:goodvibes

Today's Plan:
*SR
*Work for DH
*4th of July parade (weather permitting)

My DH left his cell phone at home today. :eek: He is gonna freak out when he figures that out! :( The guy he was supposed to meet at work this morning had to go to an emergency call somewhere else and can't meet my DH. I have no way of getting a hold of him to let him know that either. :( Hopefully, he'll find a phone and call.

Tomorrow is weigh-in...Not sure what that number will be. It's been an up and down week, but I did get some exercise in. We'll just have to wait and see.

Hope everyone has a great day!:grouphug:

Isn't it amazing how dependant we are on our cell phones? I saw they had pay phones at Blizzard Beach and dd was like "what are those for?" I had to tell her that in the "old days" we didn't have cell phones! I hope you connect with your dh. And I hope today is better for both of you! Did your rain clear out?

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a good weigh in. That exercise probably had a good impact!

Good day wished for you friend!:hug:

Thanks Amy. :hug:

We don't have much planned this weekend and for that, I am glad. :thumbsup2 The only thing we have scheduled so far is fireworks in a nearby community tomorrow. It's one of those weekends where you just go with the flow.

Today's Plan:
*SR
*Laundry
*Budget (gotta get July's budget done!)

Weigh in was okay...down 1.2 pounds. I really need to make a more conscious effort to lose weight. I am not comfortable at this weight at all. :(

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th of July weekend!:grouphug:

Busy as usual, huh, Tracy? Did those contractors ever pay up?

AWESOME deal at Target! You are so good at that! Our CVS opened & I haven't even been thru the door. :eek:

Have a GREAT weekend! Congrats on the loss! Remember slow & steady wins the race!!!!!

Great news on the loss!! :cool1:

You always find the best deals! And that is wonderful that you are close to getting your July budget all figured out.

I will try to send some sunshine and heat your way... :goodvibes
