Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Good morning friends and Happy 4th of July!:banana:

Yesterday was a good day. We went to Red Lobster for lunch (had gift cards), had a Sonic Blast for dessert (Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!:love:), and then had Taco Bell for dinner. We got all but 1 of my DD6's birthday gifts purchased and we got the antenna for our house so we can get the local channels.

Not sure what today's plans are yet...We have to get the budget done! We also have to update the Disney budget as well. Those two things must be done before we leave the house for the day.

I'm doing some research on Nintendo DS Lite's for Christmas for my girls. Anyone have experience with them? What kind of games and accessories did you buy? Any help is much appreciated!:goodvibes

That's about all from here...Have a safe and Happy 4th!:grouphug:

Julie~ Thanks for stopping by. :hug: Nope, the contractors haven't paid yet. My DH is calling our attorney next week. One contract is past due from last November!:eek:

Amy~ Thanks for stopping by. :hug: Please send some sunshine and warmer weather out this way! It has been very fall like here the past few days.

Hello Tracy!:wave2:
You certainly have been super busy lately. How do you do it?

Great deal at Target. I took advantage of the gift card deal and had a $5 coupon for the Jonas Brothers, but my Target won't take internet printed coupons. I so wish they did.

You know I was joking about the weater a couple weeks ago? I thought you did, but I don't think anyone else understood. I am so jeolous of those with cool weather this time of year. Today it was 104 in the sun at 10:00am and this afternoon 98.6 in the shade at 2:00pm. :scared: We are hurting for rain right now. It's getting a bit cloudy outside and the wind is blowing, so I'm hoping we get a little before this evening.

I hope your DH was able to get all of his work done this week. Here's a little extra pixiedust:

I hear you about the budget. I've been working on my extra hard. Good Luck there. :hug:

I too was sad about Farrah and MJ. We were on our way to NY last week and when we arrived to Atlanta we saw about Farrah on the news and then when we got to NY my DSIL today us about MJ. Then we were on our way home from the airport on Sunday when DS called about Billy Mays. I was like WOW! who is next.

Have a great weekend and a wonderful 4th!

Thanks Lisa.:hug:

We had a nice weekend...lots of relaxing and two steak dinners! Yummy!:love:

My DD6 got stung several times yesterday. A bee/hornet got stuck in her shirt and stung her repeatedly on the neck. :( She ran into the house, we took her shirt off, and my DH stepped on the bee. We gave my DD some medicine and her put an ice pack on her neck. The swelling went down and she was back outside in a half an hour.

Today has been a frustrating and tiring day. :( TOM is here and that just wipes me out every month. The first couple of days are TOUGH.:headache:I did manage to get some homeschooling done and added some money to my account at SR as well. As far as the rest of the evening goes, we'll have dinner later on and get our nightly walk in. Other than that, I'm done for the day! ;) (Although I might do some DISing too!:thumbsup2 )

Trying to come up with some fun ideas to pass the time until WDW for the girls. We used to do Friday night trivia and things like that and the girls tel me they miss it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm too tired to think today. ;)

Have a great evening WISHers!:grouphug:

Hi Tracy
glad you had a great 4th July :)
How did WI go?#
weird the suns gone here too - we seem to be channeling the same weather!!!
Glad DD got over the bee stings pretty quickly - brave girl :)

Hello Tracy. Hope you feel better today. Last week was really rough for me, so I know exactly how you are feeling. :hug:

Here some pixiedust: in additions to prayers that the lawyer will be able to help your DH with those who still owe him. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be.

Trivia I am no good at. Maybe on the Just for Fun section at the bottom of the DIS has something. I know that I got some great color/work sheets for the kids and made them activity books. I haven't been around on that section too much. Oh wait, that's where this thread is isn't it? :rotfl: I am such a goof sometimes.

I keep trying SR since you have such good luck with it. I know everything doesn't work the same for everyone, but I keep trying. My one frustration is the OXY surveys. A couple days ago I was answering all kinds of questions about one particular subject and after about 5 minutes I suddenly got the "we're sorry, you don't qualify for this survey". HUH??????:confused3 I had been answering questions that were on a specific subject, not the random stuff. Do you ever get that?

Have a good day today. Oh, I'm glad your DD didn't suffer any ill effects from the stings. Hope she is doing good also.
Lisa

Just in time too because my DH and I are trying to do a NO Buy July since we spent way too much money in June. Our goal is to get as many $0 spending days as possible. Here's hoping! ;)

I SO need to do that too!:rotfl:

Thanks everyone for stopping by!:grouphug:

Yesterday was a rough day. :( My DD6 had a major attitude most of the day that really shocked me. My DH came home and talked to her about it and she calmed down in the evening. As a result of that and the sadness involved with the monorail accident (been reading about it a lot), I have been stress eating and emotional eating. :( I weighed myself this morning and show a 2 pound gain since Friday. Hopefully, with lots of water and careful eating the next couple of days, that 2 pounds will flush away....

No real plans for the day...Maybe we'll head out some place and enjoy the nice weather.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!:grouphug:

********************************************************
Tracey~ At weigh-in on Friday, I had lost 1.2 pounds. I gained it back plus some though with some overeating the past few days. :( Hopefully with a lot of water and careful eating, I can flush the pounds away!:wizard:

Lisa~ I don't always have the best of luck with surveys. Just yesterday, I spent 25 minutes on an OTX survey and then was told I didn't qualify!:eek: I was able to get a relatively quick survey after that, but I was pretty frustrated for a few minutes there. Keep on trying!!:cheer2: Extra money for Disney is a good thing!:thumbsup2

Plumeria~ Welcome Back!!!:hug: I'll tell ya the No Buy July has been hard. I never realized how much we spend without thinking about it. So far, we have spent over $144 and it's only the 7th of July!:eek: We probably would have spent a lot more if we hadn't put a No Buy July in place. ;)

Tracy, congrats on the loss, you'll have your recent gain off in no time since its probably just water. I know how frustrating the up and down thing is, since I have been doing this for 20 years, but I know you and I will get this weight off! Then meet in WDW to show off our gorgeous new bods.;)

So sorry about your dd getting stung, but glad she was okay. So when is her birthday?

Hope today was a good one, did you ever warm up with some sunshine?

Hey Tracy. Hope today went a little better for you. My DD is 6 also and it always throws me when she brings out the attitude. I so hope this is not a glimpse of what the teen years are going to be like. :scared:

Really hope today was a good day for you.:hug:

Hey Wish Sis, hope today was better!:hug: Attitudey six year olds, is there any other way they come? ;)

Thought about you today, a lady at my pool was reading a Dave Ramsey book!

Plumeria~ Welcome Back!!!:hug: I'll tell ya the No Buy July has been hard. I never realized how much we spend without thinking about it. So far, we have spent over $144 and it's only the 7th of July!:eek: We probably would have spent a lot more if we hadn't put a No Buy July in place. ;)

Thanks! I am glad to be back.:goodvibes Oh I know! Shopping is a major weakness for me. I am trying to save most of my money for my WDW trip in February. I am paying for my mom too, so I've got to cut back on the shopping sprees lol! I see you are heading to the World very shortly. So excited for you!:hug: Where are you staying?

Thanks ladies for stopping by. :grouphug:

Today has been a wonderful day. We decided to make it a daddy day. Since he had today off, we did things that he wanted to do today: Buy a ticket to win a house, go to McDonalds for their Angus burger, head to the beach, and stop for ice cream on the way home. It was a fun and relaxing day for all of us!:cloud9:

My cousin may be coming over to spend the night this evening. She's 12 and the girls have such a great time hanging out with her. They have a lot of the same interests (Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Disney, Jonas Brothers, e.t.c.) so that makes their time together even more fun. :woohoo:

Weigh-in is tomorrow. TOM is leaving the building so hopefully, there will be a whoosh and a loss. ;)

Have a great evening!:grouphug:

*******************************************************
Amy~ My DDs birthday is July 27th. She is very excited about it!:yay: Thanks for thinking of me!:hug:

Lisa~ Thanks for checking in!:hug: My DD6 doesn't have an attitude often, but when she does it can be a doozy!:eek:

Plumeria~ Thanks for stopping by!:hug: I hear ya on saving for WDW. We still have some money to save for our September trip. We've gotta buckle down and quit spending. :blush: We'll be staying at POP.....can't wait!:banana:

Good morning friends,

Last night, my 12 year old cousin came over to spend the night. My girls were zonked out from our day at the beach, but they managed to stay up long enough to hang out with her for awhile and to watch Princess Protection Plan on DVD...Cute movie! princess:

Weigh-in....no change. At least it's not a gain! ;)

Today's Plan:

* SR
* Grocery Store
* Library

Today is our first Family Fun Friday to celebrate our upcoming Disney trip. DD6 got to pick the theme...UP. We're going to have Kevin's Pudding (Kevin liked chocolate in the movie), Russell's hot dogs (Russell was served a hot dog at dinner in the movie.), and Mr. Fredrickson's fries (just sounded good) and the girls will decorate the table with Up-like things..balloons, pictures of the characters e.t.c. After dinner, we'll make Wilderness Explorer badges and maybe play some Disney trivia.

Speaking of Disney, my DH and I were talking last night and we may try and book a short trip to WDW in December. We're working on the details right now, but we're pretty excited about the chance. :banana: We have some research to do over the next day or so. We'll need to come up with a number and then see if we can make that number by the end of November. Here's hoping! :wizard:

That's about all from here...Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!:hug:

Today has not gone as planned so far. :( My DH is working later than expected so we may have to postpone Family Fun Night til tomorrow. A little while ago, I found out that we won't have access to our driveway until Tuesday due to construction. I also found out that our next door neighbors have been missing some mail lately.:eek: That makes me nervous because we have been expecting several checks to come in the mail over the past week and they haven't come in yet. I hope it's just a coincidence and that the checks show up soon. :eek: I would hate to think that someone might be taking our mail.:sad2:

Too bad about your evennig Tracy but what a cute idea.

That scares me about the mail.I wonder if the post office can tell you what was checked in for your address?

Have a great weekend,
Linda

Tracy, I hope the checks show up soon. That is very nerve wracking. The current house we have has community mailboxes with locked boxes. I thought I'd hate it but I actually love it. Keep us posted.

I love your Fun night idea, I hope you got to do it yesterday.

And I am so keeping my fingers crossed you get to go to WDW in December! I am sending some pixie dust out to Ohio to help make that happen!:wizard:

It always takes my body about three or four days to get rid of the TOM water, so maybe your weigh in just missed that by a couple of days. To me no gain when its that time of the month is a huge accomplishment!

Happy Weekend and hope its a good one. :)

I love your idea for Family Fun Friday. You are so creative--I'm always excited to hear what you're going to come with next.

Good luck for No Buy July. I've been trying to rack up no spend days too. It certainly can't hurt to keep an eye on things.

I hope things get settled with your DH's work payments and that you get all of the checks you are expecting. The mail situation would unsettle me too.

Best of luck figuring out the December trip! Sure sounds like fun...

Hi Tracy - the family fun friday & dads day sounded great :)
my scale doesnt move for weeks at a time & then only goes down 2 or 3 lb's at the most - so hang in there & dont give up :)

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, ladies!:grouphug:

Today looks to be a busy day here. I started working on my to do list yesterday and will continue it today. The goal is to have all items on the list completed by Friday.

* Tweak Budget

* Work on DD6's Birthday Party details

* Wrap DD6's gifts

* List more eBay items (I have 3 auctions up now for homeschooling stuff.)

* Work on Disney details

* Re-organize CVS cupboard

* Make a list of Christmas gifts I already have.

* Make a list of Christmas gifts I need to look for.

* Clean out coupon folder

* Work on homeschooling goals for the upcoming year

It sounds like a lot, but if I work on these a little bit at a time, I should be able to get them done by Friday.

We are officially 62 days away from our WDW vacation. Once we get to the 60 day mark, we're going to start the "Disney Jackpot" for the girls. For each chore that is done correctly and without complaining, they will get a nickel to put it the Disney Jackpot. (homemade Disney jar) Also, if they get "caught" doing something nice for someone or respond to a tough situation in an appropriate manner, they will also get a nickel. If they get a good grade on their spelling test or do a great job on their daily journals, they get a nickel. For every book they read, they get a nickel. The day before we leave for WDW, we'll count the total change, split it in half, and that's their spending money for the trip. We'll see how this works out....

Also, this Friday is Family Fun Night part 2. This time, DD8 will be doing Toy Story night, complete with Pizza Planet and a movie. UP Family Fun Night was a lot of fun and DD6 had a lot of great ideas for decorations. :D

Off to get some work done today...Have a great Monday! :goodvibes

*********************************************************

Linda~ I just realized that an eBay auction I won hasn't shown up either!:eek:I'm hoping that these checks and things are delayed from the holiday last week and will show up this week. It's disconcerting to think that someone may possibly be taking things out of our mailbox. :(

Amy~ Please keep that December WDW pixie dust coming!:wizard: I really want to go!:yay:

Pearlieq~ Thanks!:goodvibes This No Buy July thing isn't working out very well for me. :blush: I think I only have 3 or 4 $0 spending days. At least I'm getting an idea of where the money is going. Maybe next month will see us with more $0 spending days!:wizard:

Tracey~ Thanks!:goodvibes I'm glad that the scale is holding steady right now. At least it's not going up! ;)
