Toys R Us Reward Dollars

I got mine today....$6 and $5 good until mid-Jan, and then another $6 and $5 good after mid-Jan. They are always a PITA to use, so I don't know if I'm even going to bother:confused3 I may use them on Easter and Valentine's stuff...we'll see.

I didn't get mine yet. My account says I have to print them out on the 29th. My daughter need a new ds . Can I use it on the DS XL?

Got my coupons today also. Am disappointed. Am just glad I didn't spend hundreds of $$ at TRU this year. Guess I like to spread my money around to other places like Target and Walmart.com and Amazon.com. No reward programs, but then I don't have to deal with $5 coupon(s) either. :cool1:

I got mine emailed today. 10 $5 cert. But you can only use 5 from now til 1/13, then 5 from 1/14-1/28. And it says not valid on video games or accessories!! My kids do not need more toys right now either! Some "rewards"!!:sad2:

That is annoying since they allowed you to use the rewards on video games last year. I'll find something to use my rewards on but I usually only buy video games at Toys R Us (and that's what I earned the rewards on).

AWWW I did not receive the email I logged into my rewards on TRU to find them. I planned on using these to purchase LeapPad app cards looks like thats NOT an option now?!

Are you sure you can't use them online? Because I'm pretty sure I've done that in the past.

Mine state right on the top "valid in Store thru 1/13/12". In the small print in bold it also states "in store only." :headache:

I had to log in to get mine; 10 $5 coupons. I have to drive a ways to use mine so if I can't stack them they won't get used. I will look for Easter basket items. We don't need any more toys! :scared1:

Just heard on the news that TRU is among the top stores for customer DISsatisfaction. Not a surprise!:rolleyes1

I'm glad you posted. I never got an email telling me.

I got one $5 and one $6 for two different time periods. Sheesh.

I never got an e-mail about mine either. I logged on this morning and printed mine out. Now I need to plan to make 2 trips to TRU, about 45 min. away, to spend these on toys that we don't need, and pray they let me combine the coupons.
I was going to buy the kids a Kinect game that they didn't get for Christmas, but of course they can't be used on video games, or nearly half the items TRU carries. I don't get why they can't issue a $50 gift card for use on what the CUSTOMER wants. If I earned the REWARDS, why does it feel like a HASSLE instead of a REWARD.:headache:. I only shop TRU during the holidays, and I didn't do much shopping there last year so I had forgotten how much of a headache their REWARDS system was. You better believe I'll remember next year when the holidays roll around. I guarantee most of my shopping will be done at Wal-Mart (much closer to my home), instead of TRU.

I got 2 $6 for different time periods. Do they really think making me go to their store times is going to make me spend more money there? If so, they are definitely mistaken, I'll be spending no more than my $6 each time.

That was a post from last year--when the promo may have been different.

And I always find this kind of thread interesting. When TRU advertised these promos, they were very clear as to the dates the coupons/gift cards would be good for. It's a little unfair to be unhappy about the promo if TRU is doing what they advertised. And I know that they put the info in every single ad they ran & in every single email they sent. Yes it may have been small type but my 50 yr old eyes were able to read it.

TBH I didn't even know about the promo because I don't shop TRU often enough anymore to care about the rewards program. I saw this thread and thought I'd check out my status and sure enough I had rewards there. While I wouldn't go as far as saying I'm unhappy about how they do things, I sure do think its a ridiculous way to run the rewards program. (And I'd think that even if I had read all that fine print in the advertisements ;)).

You all are right. Way too complicated. If everyone is so dissatisfied, maybe they should discontinue the program so no one will have any complaints about their FREE gift certificates. :sad2: Sheesh people!!

Almost EVERY coupon TRU offers excludes video games, diapers and formula. Heck, those are even excluded from the employee discount. But after working there this season I have learned the average Joe would rather yell at the cashier than read the fine print.

I didn't get an email about my rewards $ either. I logged in and printed them after seeing this thread. My game plan was going to be to go buy something and use my $25 rewards points and get a gift receipt. Then b/4 the 90 days is up to take the item back with the gift receipt and get a store credit that could be used on anything. Well that WAS going to be my plan but I remembered my neice is pregnant and I checked the registery and she had registered so I was able to put my reward bucks towards her shower gift.:cool1:

If you guys really can't find anything to buy, some TRUs sell travel-sized products, q-tips, etc. that you could use the rewards on....I've done that before!

I hate their rewards program. It sucks!! Worst!!

Good thing you had something to use them on, because your original plan really wouldn't have worked. When you use reward dollars, they reduce the price of the item, so when you return it, you don't get the original price. For instance, if you bought 1 item that was $20 & had $12 in rewards, if you return the item you'd get $8.

yeah, me too! And today I used my $12 worth of rewards for sheets. They had great full sheet sets (flat, fitted, 2 pillowcases) on sale--originally $35, on sale for $28. So with my rewards I got 2 sets for $44. Then I used a bunch of promotional $10 gift cards I got back in October/November, and didn't owe them anything. In fact, I still have a little bit of money left on one of the gift cards.

Thanks to all those who posted about the rewards. I never received the email but was able to log into my account and print my certificates. I have $12 total- $6 good now until 1/13 and $6 good starting 1/14. Went in tonight to do a return and picked up the storage tray for the gaming ottoman Santa brought. This was 9.99 on sale for $7.99. After my coupon I spent $2.12. Very happy with that :)

I was annoyed more that I had to print 3 pages of coupons than anything. What is the point of 5 $5 coupons? Are they hoping people won't realize they combine and will make 5 separate purchases?

I got 10 $5 coupons & 2 coupons for free Leapster games. Curious if they'll let me use that on an app card...

Anyway! We plan to have another baby so I bought 2 boxes of bottle liners, 3 Christmas (50% off) tubes of M&M minis, a gingerbread train kit, 2 bags of "eat your vegetables!" chip and a Long sleeve tshirt for my 2yr old. I was happy enough getting that all for free :)

I wanted train tracks but they were out. Figure they're wiped clean from Christmas, but hope to get some with my next set that start 1/14.
