Toys R Us Gift Card Question

DD 17yo got a Toys R Us gift card over a year ago. Because of her disability, we have not been able to find anything that she could use or play with there. (No younger kids to buy for either).

Does Toys R Us sell gift cards to other stores/restaurants? If so, can I use the TRU card to purchase a gift card for someplace else?

I tried calling the store a few times. When I finally got through, I hung up after being on hold for over 45 mins. If anyone knows, I figured my friends here at the Dis would.

DD got one last year too and at 15 yr there wasn't anything she wanted...so I bought it from her and got a McDonalds and Subway card. They have a lot of different gift cards so you should be able to find something.

Aren't there gift card swap sites?? I believe I have heard of there being some but cannot tell you the name of any. I would do a search for that and see if you can find someone who wants to swap you for it or see if you can find someone who wants to buy it from you.

I recall seeing a few; Marshall's, Michael's, and some other places. TRU sells diapers and other baby stuff (in case you have a baby shower to go to), batteries (for toys), and other non toy stuff (Christmas wrap and other holiday items)

I went to TRU yesterday. They didn't have a lot of gift cards to choose from but I was able to use the $40 TRU card to buy a $15 Itunes card and a $25 Chili's card.


When we find something for DD, I'll just pay for it instead.

Usually you can't buy one gift card with another.

Our local TRU sells a lot of video games, DVDs and small electronics type things and accessories. Maybe you could find something for yourself in that mix and buy the gift card from her?
