DH always takes his staff out to lunch and then to the toy store to buy Toys for Tots.
Tomorrow is the day! :hyper:
On the news we just heard that the boxes are empty for girls 9-12.
We need some ideas. What do girls that age want?
TIA :teeth:

board games, bath and body stuff, HAIR STRAIGHTNERS, basketballs, soccer balls, puzzles, craft supplies (nicer things), scrap-booking things with a disposable camera and gift card for photo processing, little purses.

With the toy drive I was involved with the 11-18 year old range was always the hardest to fill. We had several school groups that participated in our drive and we specifically asked them to buy things THEY would like. It works great that way!

I'd go with tween items.

Jewlery, Hair Clippies, nail polish, etc.... or does it have to be a "toy"

Hmmm - I dont think they still do Barbie's at the age, do they?

What about hand held games, like Brain Warp etc?

Lets see 9-12 year old girls generally love crafty stuff like friendship bracelet kits and such, high school musical and Hannah montana are also huge with this age group, little lip gloss kits and nail polish kits, Hello Kitty, Kids bop cds Hope this helps :cool1:

I don't have any girls but I'll give it shot....

scrapbooking stuff
journal (maybe with lock/key) :thumbsup2
bath lotions
lip gloss
jewelry
any kind of crafting stuff
purses
clothes
hair styling stuff
books
board games
CD's

I hope you're not going to make them look for the infamous banana clip thingy? Good Morning!

Thank you for all the ideas.
Keep them coming.
I will give DH the list and he can take it shopping with him. :)

Not sure if Toys for Tots has to be "toys" or not  Does anyone know?

This is what my 10 year old asked for: Littlest Pet Shop....seems to be what a lot of the kids want in 4th & 5th grade.

She also likes the crafty items....artsy.

She also loves stuffed animals.

Books

the 20Q game.

I hadn't even really heard of the My Littlest Pet Shop stuff until Abi wanted it from Santa....those things are cute !!! It's kind of fun trying to find ones that I haven't already bought or that I know Santa is bringing.

Our local News Station is doing a toys for tots drive tomorrow. They listed suggested items like bath and body, CD's, CD walkman 's, batteries, & $25 gift cards. SO it doesn't have to be toys, anything will be great.

Books are always a great idea. I don't know anyone that age but I THINK the Tinkerbelle Fairies Books are geared towards that age. I'm sure a local Barnes and Noble can point you in the right direction.

Thanks...that makes it a lot easier.

I just went to the Toys for Tots website to see if they listed suggested items for the age group in question. While I didn't find that I did find out that the Toys for Tots 3-car train logo was designed by Walt Disney himself. Thought that was pretty cool.

20 questions hand held game
tomagatchi or any virtual pet handheld
anything deal or no deal
Uno cards
