Toy Story Mania

So if you want to be one of the first inline, get to the Main DCA turnstiles early ... If you want to use the DCA entrance,

:confused3 How is using the DCA entrance different than what was described previously? :confused3

I'm sure he means the GCH private entrance in that second part.

Another report I just saw said the single rider is open here and there for now, but a CM said it would officially open in 2 weeks. So I guess, just ask a CM for now if it is open when you get to the ride. I saw a picture of a "single rider" line sign, so it is for real!

Well only Soarin is open at 9:30. The rest of the park is roped off. Guests are kept around Sunshine Plaza and Soarin for 30 minutes. So you can ride Soarin or crowd around one of the ropes. Then at 10:00, the ropes are dropped and everyone is allowed into the rest of the park. This will probably result in a mad rampage to TSMM. Someone's bound to get trampled!

We were there the morning of 6/18 (Wednesday), and they held us at Sunshine Plaza until about 5 minutes to 10:00. When they moved the rope, it started out as a fast walk, then became kind of a stampede! I've never seen anything like that before at DL. A lady in front of us had someone step on her & pull both her shoes off during the rush. DH and I managed to run a bit, and by the time we reached the ride queue, it was 30 minutes until we rode. Had a celebrity sighting: before we boarded, we saw Wayne Brady getting off the ride! Anyway, the ride was amazing, totally worth the effort!! So much fun. But once we got off the ride, it was a 120 minute wait from the beginning of the queue, and there were way more people beyond that. And it was HOT out that day, yikes!! We were lucky there were a lot more people in the herd behind us than in front of us. :thumbsup2

Hi, would a single rider be able to bring a 1yo along?
i just don't think i could do those lines... Did anyone that went on TSM find it worth their wait (and how long was your wait)?

I'm almost positive the answer is no. There is absolutely no lap sitting on this ride, and if the child is not able to sit up and securely sit with a restraint, I personally wouldn't take him/her on it.

I hear most people are using child switch pass with this ride with kids younger than 2
.

6.5 hours?
It's a great ride, but I definatly would not wait that long!:confused3
I am so glad we got to ride it this past Sat. with only a 40 min wait.

My thoughts exactly...only I got to ride it Sunday with the same about of wait time. :yes

So they do give child switch passes' for this ride? I guess I assumed anybody could ride (like Nemo or Buzz) so they wouldn't be giving out child switch passes. But I'm VERY happy to hear it does!:) Unfortunately there is no way our 5 yr old with autism would every do this ride.

Anybody know how long the waits are right now, for early evening? Thinking about maybe driving down to try it. :)

Yeah, I would also like to get a feel for how the wait times are throughout the day. We arrive late afternoon on July 1st, and I think we will pop into DCA and check the lines. If they are under 45 minutes, I'll ride.

I would rather do that then do the TSMM run in the morning.

I was there sunday - was about 2 hrs on early evening. I tried to go on 10:00 p.m. on closing - still about 70 minutes. Then I decided to go the next morning- Line was formimg outside the gate before 9:30. Gates opened at 9:30- run to the line which starts around Grand Califonian private entrace . Then they walk you to Toy Story shortly after 9:30 to the TSMM entrance ( so your whole party has to stay close to you) THe ride startes at 10. I was on the ride at around 10:10.:yay: It was fun .

Also my 19 mths old has to sit on her own.

I'm a DCA newbie, so please bare with me. When walking through the gate, do I need to head to my right, is that where the line forms? I have no idea where the Grand Califonian private entrace is. TIA

Gee, thanks for this info! So is it possible to run from the Grand CA private entrance? All in all- about how long would you say was your wait? I was wondering also how early before 9:30 do people actually start lining up.

I would say around 45 minutes.

I tried to go from the Grand CA private entrance on Sunday morning as well at 9:30. There was a long line, I would say around 60 people ahead of me and only one gate open. THe gate was also open slighty after at 9:30. By the time I get in, the end of TSMM line was was outside Soaring. Then I tried in the evening as discussed. Then I figured I would use the main gate the next day because there are more lines to chooseI was there slightly before 9:30 and we were line up 5 people behind the CALIFONIA letters

Maybe you can try 9:15 at Grand Califonian. Also I am not sure if Sunday and Monday makes the difference.

Also running is kind of not allowed , you walk quickly
Good Luck:3dglasses

We were there on Tuesday.

We showed up at DCA at 9:25 and there were maybe 15-20 people in our line at that time. DH got FP's for Soarin' as soon as we entered at 9:30, then we waited the 1/2 hour in line until 10:00 am, then waited an additional 15 minutes to get on the ride. It worked like a dream.

The shortest we saw the line again was 40 minutes at 2:00, then it was over an hour at 5:00. It stayed around 45 minutes most of the day, but with the other lines at 15 minutes or less (mostly at 5 minutes standby, except GRR), we never wanted to wait in the line. We never went back to the area after that, so I have no idea how long the lines were near closing (we had to see the electrical parade!).

This ride is a must do! We did Nemo the night before and decided it was a nice one time ride, but TSMM is something that we will make sure to do over and over agan! So if you're not sure, you need to do it!

Does anyone know if they are letting people stay in line after park closing? Kind of like what they are doing with Nemo in DL. If I'm going to be waiting over an hour for TSM I'd rather do it when the sun goes down. TIA:goofy:

We were there June 30. We were about 20 people back in line at the main gate. When the park was opened we ALL walking to get in line.
We waited a few minutes till the ride started then waited about 10 minutes till we were on!! Its a great ride!

We went back about 4pm thinking the line would be to long. It wasnt! We waited 20 minutes and we were on again!

I got in line at right before 9 pm and I was one of the last ones in line. I was off of the ride and walking out of the park at 9:45pm. It was really neat to see the park almost deserted walking out!! It was a good time to ride.
