For some reason I couldn't book TSM at 60 days out for FP+. Went back in the other day and they are all gone of course. Have tried searching for a couple days and no luck on either day we will be there. So my question is how likely is it to get on if you go direct to TSM from park opening, either on a regular 9:00 am day or an 8:00 am early entry (2nd week of October, Fri and Sat) ? Wait time? Also, if I have the ability to get a SDFP with some old Magicbands, will there be any morning FP's available at kiosks right at 9:00 am?

We had late afternoon FPs for TSM on our trip last week, and weren't scheduled to hit DHS until after lunch. But DH took DS early (at 9:00 entry) to sign up for Jedi Training Academy, and while they were there they rode it - said it was only like a half hour wait (and this was after they went to JTA signup first). I think it would probably be even quicker if you beelined it right upon opening.

If you beeline it to TSM right at RD you could likely ride it standby in less than 30 minutes. SD FPs are unlikely unless someone cancels their FP. The larger your party, the less likely you'll even be able to do that.

I have a photo from our Feb trip showing FP time at 9:15 and standby line shows 54 min. This was a 9am opening day.

If you are near the front of the rope drop crowd, you will be in good shape. We have been further back in the rope drop crowd and the line was already up to 45 minutes before we made it there. It is unlikely you would pick one up at a kiosk that morning. You might get lucky, but in our experience, DHS is typically the worst for FP+ availability. I stacked our FP+ at park opening the last 2 trips to hopefully pick up a 4th for something. When I went to the kiosk and tried to pick up a 4th, the CM checked and told me nothing was available- I'm not talking nothing good, I'm talking zero. It was not a high crowd time either.

If you want an alternate strategy, we always find that the line gets really short about an hour before close if Fantasmic is underway.

We've ridden 4 times in an hour many times, although the posted wait is usually 60-75 minutes. You trigger wrist does get tired though.

We find this to be a much more efficient use of our time than trying to ride in the morning.

My husband did this in August while I went RnR. I forget his wait time but it was short.
