Tower of terror

I venture to guess that everyone here realizes rides can breakdown suddenly. That's not what is going on with ToT right now. These are not sides breaking down on rare instances
My point is the time of which both sides were running since 2019 refurb (not counting the park closure) is minimal.
Going back to when we started going every few months in 2011 to the 2019 work, all 4 sides ran most days, short of a temp breakdown
Something is up that is out of the ordinary for them to have to have worked on some part of the 4 elevators since 2019, short of a very brief time when they all operated last fall
I think Echo had a motor replacement in fall of 2021. Aside from that, the downtime they had in 2019, and this refurb I believe they have been up most of the time.

We have been here all week, and I finally asked a CM working at the ToT about it. He said they have been down to one set of elevators for months. The wait times this week for it have been long, it has been frustrating considering it is supposed to be a lower attendance time. I highly recommending rope dropping it or doing Genie +.

Considering the parks were closed part of 2020 that means they have been partly down more than they’ve been all up since 2019. No other ride has been as impacted by intended outage time

I’m definitely going to be using genie plus and getting tower of terror as my second pick. We’re not planning on going to Hollywood studios until the afternoon, so I am hoping to stack several lightning lanes and fiddle-faddling to get times that work with our late dinner reservation at Boma. I’ve heard Toy Story Land is cool at night, so I’m hoping to do that later in the evening. Thanks everyone for all your information.

It looks like the work they are doing now takes 4 months per side so this means it will probably be affected for 8 months. I almost wish they had just shut both sides down at the same time for 4 months instead of dragging it out like they are.

May have even gotten done faster had they been able to work without dealing with guests around at all.

What have the waits been like for early entry? Hoping to do that first and then make it over to MMRR before rope drop... but we will be there on a busy day- predicted crowd level 9. Does this seem doable? Any strategies for getting a short wait for EE?
