Tower of Terror

So I have been to WDW 30+ times and never have ridden Tower of Terror. I love roller coasters(not just Disney ones). I ride everything at Universal(The Hulk,Rip Ride Rocket, Dueling Dragons etc), Busch Gardens Tampa, and Wild Adventures Coasters.

Now given my back story I feel like ToT should be nothing but I have this terrible fear of straight drops. Can anyone share some of their experiences? How bad is ToT? Can any compare it to some of the coasters I enjoy if you have ridden both? Are the drops very intense 30feet? 60 feet? 120 feet? I know most of this is subjective but ANY input would be appreciated. Riding ToT is litteraly on my list of things in life to do in 2014.

I really want to try it on my next trip but every time I look at one of those videos my stomach turns. Yet I can ride The Hulk or RNRC over and over. Please someone help me conquer this fear lol. Thanks for any input.

It's just a whole lotta fun..:)

Very worth doing.

If my mom can do it then anyone can do it. She is not a fan of coaster/drop rides and sometimes gets motion sickness. It took a lot to get her to finally agree to ride it and once the ride started there definitely were a lot of grumbles about disowning me leading up to the drop but after it was all said and done she said it wasn't that bad and didn't experience any motion sickness.

i love it, but what i love most is when you pop up to the windows and can see over the whole park. just focus on that cool moment :)

ToT is my third favorite ride of all WDW! I go on it at least 4 different times each day we are at DHS, it's a fun and very well themed ride. The drops are not bad in my opinion, they could have me them a lot worse!

This! I've never ridden at night and I can't wait to on our next trip!! Also have to say that I love TOT in both California and Florida, but the WDW version is much better, IMHO!! Forget Fantasyland I actually think that TOT and Everest are the best themed rides in the park!!!

Completely disagree - theming of the WDW version is better (more space of course), I can even go that the lead-ups up to the drop sequence at WDW is better (once again, space).

That said, the actual drops are far superior at DLR. Since WDW went random you have a chance of a good one; at DLR the ride is consistently excellent.

Hmm... I guess I thought the number of small drops/big drops would be the same but the order would just be mixed up. Sounds like at WDW you chance of getting a series of little drops with no big ones. All the more reason it is too bad you can't ride over and over at WDW to keep trying it. Oh well, there will be lots of new things to see anyway.

I was a little nervous the first time I rode it. It was my first time riding any thrill rides at all. The worse part for me was when they get you in position and you wait that little bit before the ride either drops you or shoots you up. It's probably only a few seconds but it seems like forever.

That trip the first time we rode a ride we paid attention to where the ride camera was and if we rode it again we did funny poses for the picture. For TOT we were in the back row in the corner for our second ride. When it got to the picture time we sat in our seats with our arms crossed slightly drooped over like we had fallen asleep. It was great when we were exiting the ride and everyone was looking at the pictures, the ones that noticed it were laughing and making comments about it being funny.
