Tower of terror ride what is it like!!!

And good news is everyone gets a lap belt now, I remember when it was a bar for everyone but the middle back person who got a lap belt.. problem with the bar was if you where on a row with a big chap and you where a skinny little girl then there was to much movement as the big chap would keep the bar from coming down far enough to feel comfortable to the skinny little person.. Thankfully I have not lost any kids on this ride yet LOL ;) So the belts are a big plus in my books, keeps everyone in place while making it fell like nothing is holding you in, really adds to the ride :)

yup...one time my daughter and I were in a row with a VERY big person.....the bar didn't even come down on me, and for my daughter, who was about 8 years old and as skinny as can be, it was as if she was sitting there without any restraint at all....and boy oh boy did she fly up.....
so yes, the seat belts are a real improvement...

Thanks :) it’s my hobby and going to Disney is my other so worked well ;) I felt I got some good photos however I came back home feeling I could have taken more (by the way I took like a thousand) but hey if I spent all day taking photos I would never have got to enjoy the place and the rides as much.

By the way My Trip Report is underway and will be stacked with loads of photos that I will try and keep on top to what I am talking about each day of the report.

TOT is my joint favorite ride along with Splash Mountain. I think it is the whole theming and anticipation that goes along with the actual drops.

I am always terrified when I go on, but always come off grinning :earsboy:

same with us....Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror are our two favorite rides because of the wonderful theming and the overall fun of the rides...

Thanks - I will do.

This is one our our favorites, the hotel setting and holograms are great but my favorite part of the ride is when you drop in the lift. Took DD age 6 and she loves it, went on several times. ::MinnieMo

Likewise. :rotfl2:

Also one of my favourite rides, great theming, though the drop is a bit of a "let down" (please excuse the pun) especially compared to Dr Doom, or the rides at Thorpe Park and Drayton Manor.

in the original version, before they revamped it to have the multiple drop programs, the first drop was really nice....good air time..
and i loved the way when you went into the drop shaft you were staring at a cinderblock wall.....oh oh.....that's when you knew it was over...i loved that cinderblock wall....and that first big drop....
now you can end up going up instead of down....or down slightly then up or whatever..
it's still spectacular, but i loved the original version best...we once rode the original version 17 times in a row.....now that was fun....

It's one of those rides I have to do. I still get nervous, I don't know why but it's just a great thrill ride. The theme is outstanding.

The first time on it I screamed like a little girl! Then had to go on it about 5 more times.

I found this ride absolutely terrifying :scared1: :scared1:   :faint: :crazy2:

I have never been so nervous:scared: queuing for ride in my life and it's the only time I've bottled it (lonly because one of the elevators had broken down so the line was moving half pace, that's my excuse). But I went on it later in the day, purely to accompany DD (12). I really was very nervous, I think because it was inside and I didn't really know what to expect. I love all the coasters, especially Hulk,

The pre-theming was excellent, although I probably would have enjoyed/taken more notice of it if I hadn't been quite so poopy-pants ;) .

My legs could just about hold me when we got off - poor DD wanted to go on again, but there's no way DH would and I certainly wasn't!

Some of my friends adore this ride and I'd like to think that I could summon up the courage for our next trip in a couple of years, but I'm not holding my breath :p

Saying that, I think everyone should give it a go to "experience it".

Your body goes up .... your body goes down. So does your stomach. Unfortunately the 2 things do it at slightly different times! :sunny:

I agree the theming is wonderful though.

Kev

Rats! Managed to post as Tam again! She hates ToT. Tried it once and vowed never to do it again.

Oh you HAVE to do it once atleast to experience it. It is a fabulous ride with a QUICK thrill at the end. You can feel the chamber click into place right before you drop so it doesn't HAVE to be so unexpected. It's a must do. You'll be glad you did even if you never go again.

The first time i went to MGM's i said there was no way i was going to go on this ride as i hate lifts & heights, so it was my worst nightmare!
When i got there i thought 'what the hell, i've paid all this money to come here i'm gonna take a risk' I was petrified but loved it!!
The second time we went we talked DD aged 10 at the time to try it, she was terrified too, but after riding it once we ended up going on it another 4 times in a row!
The effects beforethe 'drop' are amazing :)

It really is an amazing attraction: Everything from the line, to the pre-show, to the ride itself is really well done and completely puts you into the experience. It is also fun not knowing what the elevator is going to do once getting into the drop shaft...sometimes, it shoots up, others, it drops down...you just never know ;) To tell you the truth, i wouldn't go in an elevator for quite awhile after my first ToT experience several years ago!
