towels

I just had friends return from BW and BCV, they had four in their party in a one bedroom. They were only given 3 sets of towels and when they asked for a fourth one they were told they were going to be charged. In the end they pointed out they only had three and did not have to pay. But had this happened to anyone else. Next July I am taking 4 16year old girls who use two sets each - one for hair and one for body, I also use two so we are going to need 11 sets. I will wash and dry daily, it's just intially we need a few extras. We will be staying in a two bedroom so I should be able to get atleast 8 sets, but do you think they will charge me for the extra 3 sets??

If you are staying on DVC points and/or as a member, you will be charged $6 for an additional set of towels. This "package" includes 4 each of bath towels, hand towels and washcloths and an additional bath mat. You can purchase as many of these "packages" as you'll require.

In a 2 bedroom you should have 8 sets of towels. DVC provides one set of towels per person up to the occupancy of the room... I.E. 4 sets of towels in a studio or 1 bedroom, 8 sets of towels in a 2 bedroom, 12 sets of towels in a Grand Villa.. If you need more than this, as PAMOKW said, you can purchase them. If you are staying at a DVC resort on a cash reservation you can request as many towels as you want.

If you buy a towel package, do they replace them on T&T day? In other words, for a 1 bedroom with 4 sets, if you buy 4 more (1 package), do they replace all 8?

I have never had to buy an extra set of towels, so I don't know that one either.. We tend to get a 2 bedroom all the time and have yet to have 8 people in the room..

By rights they should but I suspect they have no mechanism for knowing that you purchased "extra towels". So unless you are there when they clean the room or can convince them with a note, I suspect they will take the extra towels and leave the usual number. I'm sure you could call and they would replace them but whether they'd charge again I don't know.

You can always throw the towels in the washer and dryer in a pinch !

We always end up with more than the normal amount after T&T day, because invariable there are 4 or 5 towels in the washer or dryer.

Thank you all for your replies. Now that I know I will add on the one package of four and that should be plenty. We will be on cash for the weekends so I will ask for extras then also. It's going to be a long 2 weeks with 4 16 year old girls. Hopefully they will find some nice kids, boys and girls, that will keep them busy. Anyone going July 12-23, 2003 we will have to get together. Will try to set up something as it gets closer.
