Do we need to bring beach towels. I expect we will have some for the pool, but what about if we want to go to one of the water slide parks?

You can rent towels at the water parks if you want. I think they are $2 each. We do that, rather than take our own, to free up suitcase space. Others who like to keep to the budget might find that a bit pricey if they have a large family.

Can we bring towels from the hotel or do we need to pack and bring our own towels from home? I am trying to minimize things I will need to pack.

As long as you remember to bring them all back, you can take towels to the water attractions from your resort room.

We usually bring the towels from the resort pool, not the room towels.

Didn't realize you could take towels from the hotel. 4 less things to bring...this is always good news. :)

Depends on where you stay.

At some of the resorts, you must bring towels from the room to the resort pool.

If you are staying on property and just going to pools don't bother. We brought our first time and they jsut took up room.

The water parks use the same towels that are used at the resort pools. (The pool towels have a different design to make them distinguishable from the room towels.) I've never felt it was wrong to grab a few of these from the pool to take with us to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach instead of spending the money to rent them there.

Also, I've seen them offloading the large carts of towles from a truck at Port Orleans. This leads me to believe there's a central laundry facility for WDW, and that maids at each resort don't wash that resort's own towels.

If that's the case, it wouldn't seem to matter if you dropped resort pool towels into the towel bins at a water park when you're done with them. They're all going to the same washing machines, anyway, so I don't think it's a problem to leave them there instead of carrying wet towels back to the resort.
