How many towels do they give you in a studio or suite to start? I know they bring more at 4 days but can you get more before if you need them?

So far we only stayed AKLV CL and because we were CL it also included mousekeeping & turndown service, so we always had enough towels.

4 bath towels, 4 hand towels and 4 washcloths and bath mat. There may be a towel animal, so that's a bonus towel! I guess there will be 5 of each in the VGF studio!

You do have access to towels for the pool, but if you ask for more towels for the studio, they could charge you. They are supposed to, but people here have had varying experiences.

I think it is only 2 hand towels normally.

In a studio you will get 4 hand towels, bath towels and wash cloths. In a 1 bedroom you will get the same. I'm not sure I understand why that is the case in OKW, BLT or AKV where 1 bedrooms sleep 5.

So in other words they feel that 2 people should only take a shower every other day, reuse their towels (which I don't like to do) or take them down & wash them (if you are in a studio, in a 1 or 2 bedroom you have the w&d in the room).

lol - they are not directing you when to shower.

Many people reuse towels so I don't think that's an odd thing at all. Most hotels/motels these days also mention that in order to conserve water you should hang up your towel and they will know that you wish to reuse rather than get a new one.

If someone wishes to have a newly washed towel everyday and not to wash it themselves then request additional towel pack(s) and pay for it.

I was mainly just wondering how many. I do not reuse bath towels at home because if they don't dry they get mildew which I am allergic to. I also need 2 towels if I wash my hair (1 for my body & 1 for my hair) since my hair is very long. I guess I will be spending some time in the laundry room just washing some towels. I do a lot of towels at home, so nothing new. No problem.

I just think it's funny that you get the same amount in a 1 or 2 bedroom also although as I said before, at least you have the laundry facilities right in your room.

We just washed towels and I dry my body then wrap my hair..we also rarely reuse towels but it was not an issue.

If you stay in a 1BR that has two bathrooms you will get additional towels in the second bathroom. I can't remember the exact number but at least 2 more bath towels and wash cloths and at least one hand towel.

I always pay the $6 to get the additional towel pack--I call and tell them not to bother with the hand towels and washcloths, just the regular towels and its well worth the price.

Although, I will be honest--last summer, at BWV, they did not charge us for it. I even went to the front desk and mentioned it and they said "Its a little magic on us"--it was on the printout, but showed a credit adjustment.

I am headed there next week and my two DD's and their friend will be in a studio and I intend to order them the extra--this way, each will have two for the nights we are there--

The occupancy is the same in many of the DVC studios and 1BR's so the towels provided are the same amount. 2Br's get towels based on the occupancy count of 8 or 9.

I have never ever gotten 4 hand towels in a studio. Usually there are only two. Rarely there are 3. I find it gross that they would expect 4 people to share two hand towels for 4 days. Yes I know we can pay for more towels if we want to but expecting 4 people in a studio which doesn't have a washer/dryer to re-use a bath towel 4 times or do laundry every day or two is not my idea of deluxe accomodations. I don't believe anyone no matter what the size of their unit should have to go more than 2 days without getting clean towels provided.

One bath towel per room occupant is standard for hotels and timeshares. If you want more, you pay for them or get daily cleaning (which you pay for). I'm not willing to pay for clean towels for everyone in my dues. We reuse our towels at home and have no problem doing it. We are clean when we get out of the shower, so the towel is just wet, not dirty.

I totally agree with Deb & Bill - We reuse towels at home, and do the same when on vacation. I think the number of towels is more than fair, and provides plenty - especially in a one bedroom!

We would never put 4 people in a studio for more than a night or two - with the exception of OKW and VGF. The extra bed at OKW makes the difference, and the separate shower at VGF makes the difference there.

While I realize some of the VGF Studios sleep 5 - can you imagine 5 people in that space?! I am a big fan of personal space, and a studio can only give personal space to so many people... 3 would be my max I think.

You all can reuse your towels if you want to. I will either pay for extras or do some wash. Thanks. Just wanted to know what to expect so I can plan what I have to do.:goodvibes

Last month July 4th week a studio at BLT we received
6 bath towels
4 hand towels
and 6 wash cloths. I actually took a picture. :rotfl2:
First time that has happened in 19 years.
and
The studio was ready at 10am. That was the 2nd time that happened in 19 years.

No, they figure those that want fresh towels every day should pay the costs involved in having that in order to keep dues down for those that will hang and reuse their towel.

Not the same number for 1 or 2 bedroom. Same number for studio or 1 bedroom. The 2 bedroom will have another whole set in the second bedroom/studio portion.

They do offer you the opportunity to get clean towels more often. You can pay for the extra towel pack as many times as you want it. Remember, this is NOT a hotel. It's a timeshare owned by all of us. If we all want fresh towels everyday, we will all pay for it in increased dues. I for one don't change my towels at home daily, and I don't need to on vacation either. The current set up allowing those who wish fresh towels daily to pay for them is the perfect compromise.

I agree completely!!!
We do not use clean towels daily at home and I do not need to on vacation. If I did want to, as OP does, than I can have them by paying for my desired extras. It is after all, a timeshare, not a hotel. I have rented houses at the beach where I got one set of towels for each person for a week, with no option for more.
I agree that the current setup is a fair compromise. Our dues cover the basic set and replacements on T & T and those that require more can choose to pay for the available towel sets. All is good for me.

I think this is the part that is sometimes hard to forget with DVC. We are the owners and we are the ones paying for those things re: dues. It is obvious that most members are fine with the policy of "pay as you go" and just something that we all adjust to as we go from "hotel" guests to "timeshare owners".

To be honest, I really have become to like not having to worry about someone in my room and as I said, for studio stays, I pay the additional $6 to have those extra 4 bath towels. For DH and I, it works out perfect for our 3 or 4 night trips!
