Do all rooms on site get towel animals? I have seen post about them, but that is all I know! Are they only something in the mod and deluxe resorts only or do you have a chance to get them at a value? We will be on site for the first time at POP in sept so I'm sooo excited! and I know my son would love to come into the room and see a little towel animal!

We have stayed at Value, Mods, and AK and for us it seems to vary. In most cases we have had a towel animal upon our 1st night and that was it. Some trips we have had 3 or 4 during our stay.

If you don't get one by your 1st or 2nd night, maybe you could leave a note by the phone stating this is your 1st trip and could you please have a towel animal. It can't hurt to just ask.

We stayed at a mod, and used the towel animal to hold down the maid's tip, but we never got a new one. We've had friends stay at mods and get a few different ones during the trip.

As previously suggested, a note might work if you don't get one.

Dozens of posts on this subject. These are a little gifts from mousekeepers. Some have the time, some have the knowledge, you can't ask or request, they are just bits of magic that might bless your room. Asking can spoil the magic, we've received them and most times don't, doesn't make or break a stay. My feeling is before these forums and computers, extra thoughts or gifts received in WDW, were just that, a gift. Now with everyone posting what they got, the magic is dying because people are asking and demanding the same treatment. Not criticizing you in general but they are just alittle something some mousekeepers do. All resorts probably do them, its the individual mousekeepers extra talent and it's all hit or miss, nothing to count on.

I was at POR in December. We got one everyday, we went with my parents who got none...:confused3

We stayed in CSR in February and there was a table set up at the check-in area with a couple of ladies showing how to make them. DW made her own and we took it back to the room with us. No extra charge for that bit of magic either!!:thumbsup2

I was really just wanting to know if it was a possibility to get them in a value resort! or if it was a mod or deluxe resorts only. I was not expecting it or going to ask for one, but thought I would tell my husband it might be a possibility, if people had received them in a value before. I would never tell my son, so if we did not receive one he would not be disappointed.

Last August at the Contemporary my family and I only got one towel animal and last December at the Polynesian we did not get any. Personally I don't care if we end up getting them or not, because I don't see the hype in them and I find it weird when others say they will be disappointed if they don't get them. I only say that because your on vacation in WDW so what can be better then that? Plus the housekeepers make them on their own time so leaving a note or leaving tips will not increase your chances of getting them. Besides isn't it more important that the housekeeper does a better job cleaning your room instead of making towel animals?

To answer your question...we usually stay in the values and have received towel animals every time! The frequency of receiving them have varied with each trip, but we have gotten at least one every trip...:goodvibes

We have received them at All Star Resorts so I concur with minnierocks!:thumbsup2

I've stayed at..ASMusic, POP, POR, DxL, CR, Polynesian, S/D, BCV, BWV...some multiple times (POR, POP, BWV). The only resorts I've gotten towel animals in were POP, BWV...for whatever reason, and not every time. I stayed at POP four times, and it was the fourth time that we got towel animals. If the housekeeper knows how to make them (and a lot don't) then you may get lucky and get one. Othewise, none will be forthcoming. Now, I do have about 5 of the silly things at present, and they are fun to see when you get to your room. But....if it hadn't been for these boards, I probably would never have even realized they were out there! If you get one, terrific. But, if for whatever reason, you don't, I wouldn't let it upset the vacation. I sometimes think that in our efforts to make these trips perfect for our kids, we lose sight of the important stuff....like enjoying being in WDW with your kids.

I'll have to disagree on that. Last year 4 of us (Big Guys) stayed at AS-Mu. The first 2 nights, no animals. Other magic, including a special We're here dance:banana: , but I digress. I left a $5 tip that morning and came home to a towelly. The guys next door asked, and I said try leaving a tip in the morning. They did, and got one that evening. Tip early and often. Treat them well and they will treat you well.

I've received towel animals at all levels of WDW resorts - values, mods & deluxes. And a few visits, didn't receive any! And I do tip Mousekeeping daily. But, as others have said, it's a bit of extra magic when they appear! :)

okay..

yes, it's potentially available at all resorts.

no, tipping doesn't matter. you might think it does and you might even have circumstantial evidence to such but i have the exact opposite proof. during one trip, literally the only day i didn't get one was when i forgot to leave a tip (although I did run into the housekeeper that afternoon and rectified that. i even invited her back but i didn't get another one).

the only thing that makes a difference is the housekeeper. not all of them can do them. also, the ones with the little eyes on them are all done on their own time and they'll always have a limited supply with them.

i can tell you that there has been a push within the past 1-2 years or so that every room has a small one upon check-in. hasn't happened across the board and it's never a guarantee, but it's a noticeable change from how it used to be. that doesn't mean you get one every day or even multiple days.

and you won't necessarily have the same housekeeper every day either. you might be on vacation, but it's still a job for them so they may have a day off, they may be sick or maybe even go on vacation in the middle of yours.

tipping is nice, but don't anticipate towel animals or any other special treatment because of it, nor should you anticipate any sort of neglect if you don't tip.

if you do really want towel animals, your best bet is to call housekeeping from your room phone and see if they can arrange it for you.

We've gotten two at Pop, two at the CR and none at either POR or POFQ. It seems (at least in my situation) to be hit-or-miss. When we got them at Pop we put them in the window for a little display. We also left them there for the next family. We did take the ones from the CR home (the reason for that is beyond me). I have friends who stayed at the WL and got one every single day of their 10-day visit. Go figure.:confused3

Went to All Star Movies last week. Nothing when we arrived. Next day I decorated the windows for the 4th of July and we had 2 little guys in each window when we got back at night. We also got cup with a note that said "Nora likes tips!".

We've received towel animals off and on also.

However, my favorite "Housekeeping Stunt" was when one of the maids took my DS8s Pluto stuffed animal and set it up so that it looked like he was pulling all the toilet paper off the roll. Pluto was by the bed, TP in mouth, with the roll tracing back all the way to the bathroom!

We ended up with several towel animals this past trip. We did a split stay, 6 nights at POP and 3 at WL. We got I think 3 at POP and 2 at WL. We've stayed onsite at WDW three times before this and only got one. So it is definately very hit and miss.

I have stayed values, moderates, and deluxe .We have never ever gotten one( and yes we do tip mousekeeping). It is a totally random thing, nice if it happens but doesn't make or break your trip.
