It looks like touring plans updated their crowd predictions for June and I’m a little bummed all of our days went up. I totally understand it’s summer and kids are getting out of school and I’m prepared for crowds with rope drop, touring plans, etc but I guess I was just hoping that we would luck out, especially since the word has been that the last few summers haven’t been too bad!!

You can safely assume it will be busy in summer without concerning yourself with crowd calendars and slight adjustments to their own predictions.

Touring Plans has been updating a lot of schedules. We are going back in October and they updated the crowd predictions. While most went up, a few decreased. One MK day went to a 10. Guess we will skip that day.

My late August - Labour Day Weekend trip has now been changed for the 3rd time since I started watching the dates late last year. The crowd predictions only seem to go up or down by 1 number, for the most part, so I don't really worry much about it. Anytime there is a change in hours from Disney, you can expect your touring plan predictions to change. And I think with a new land opening at the end of this month, things are likely to be less predictable than normal.

My Late November/Early December trip just changed as well. Seems like now I would be better doing different parks different days, but already have my dining reservations, so it is hard to do that now.

I wouldn't worry too much about the crowd predictors, especially if you have all your ADRs and FP+s. It is what it is and IMO summer is always better than spring break and the holidays.

lol..... Disney has an tire part of the company....called MARKETING....who's only job is to see that every RESORT and every THEME PARK are fill to as close to 100% capacity....100% of the time

expecting anything less is just setting yourself up for a bad time.

At least now you have more realistic expectations versus your old plans. I would rather know the more accurate predictions before going.

Our August numbers just changed slightly as well. Some up, some down.

also....keep in mind......touring plans makes a lot of money off the suckers.....i mean customers who get scared of high crowd predictions....and pay touring plans to make their plans for them

Call me a sucker then. A sucker since 2010. You may want to check out what touring plans all has to offer besides just crowd calendars before mocking people for subscribing.

The cost is a drop in the bucket compared to a Disney vacation and I value the service highly.

I stand by my post. They provide nothing you cant gather on your own. But if you have unlimited funds...be their guest :)

Yep, this. I do subscribe to TP, but solely for the crowd sourced wait times. I like those. It's nice to know how long someone waited in line right before I'm about to get into the line.

But the crowd calendars...not so much. They're silly.

Yeah, like $14.95 is going to break anyone that is planning a multi thousand dollar Disney vacation.

Some of their services that I cannot gather on my own: (to name a few)
  • Dining: Reservation finder. Enter in the reservation that you are looking for and it auto searches until it finds it and then notifies you. I can't sit at a computer all day doing that.
  • The Lines App: Real time input from users in the park that day for actual attraction wait times.
  • Resort rooms: You can see a photo from every room location at various resorts. This helps immensely with resort room requests.
  • Showtimes: I might be able to spend hours locating these for every park, every show, but why waste the time.
  • Historical crowd numbers. Not predicted crowds, but actual crowd numbers from years past. This is valuable for determining roughly when the slow times of the year are.

Well worth it.

I think it's pretty childish to call people suckers for using a service that many find valuable just because it wouldn't be of value to you. I don't really use TPs crowd calendar except for to the degree that it informs their touring software which we very much enjoy and have found eerily accurate. When it all comes down to it I don't have to get an awful lot of value out of something for it to warrant $14.95. As I type this I'm having lunch on a small island off Key West and, well, each of the martinis cost more than that. I'm fine with the cost for Touring Plans.

Were going in December and while pretty much all days went up, it looks like Hollywood Studios got the brunt of the increase. I am just taking a wild guess at this, but it looks like they are recalculating their numbers based upon the opening up of Toy Story Land and the impact that will be on not only Hollywood studios, but overall attendance to the other parks as well.

I wondered about this. I look at the "crowd calendar", and figured it must be based on last years attendance, because AK was crazy high (July 25-Aug 3) and DHS was too low w/ToyLand opening June 30. After reading this thread, I refreshed, and lo and behold, the numbers changed from when I went in 2 hours ago. DHS still looks too low, doesn't it?
Any ideas why July 31 at AK would be a 10?

Only you can decide if past historical data has any bearing on future crowd levels. I don't really think they do, beyond a very, very broad generalization. Hence why I think crowd calendars are absolutely ridiculous. No way would I ever put any faith in them.

I cannot understand why it is so difficult to respect that there are those who find a value in the services, some or all, that TP offers. I find many of the tools useful, and have used them for years. While my fund are no where near infinite, I feel that the small fee is well worth the time I spend on their site. I understand not everyone finds the value that I do, however I would never ridicule their decision simply because it does not mirror my own.
