Touring Plan when staying onsite?

I am a big fan of the UG touring plans for WDW. I found them especially helpful the first couple of times we went. We are going to Universal at the end of August and we will be staying on site so we will have the FOTL privelege. My question is... do I still need to follow a touring plan or can I meander naively and depend on the FOTL to bypass crowds?

Meander naively. Its the best part and the beauty of staying onsite. :rotfl:

Seriously. No need to pour over touring plans......you have the FOTL and end of August should be easy to navigate the parks.

Have fun and be sure to come back and let us know how your vacation was :thumbsup2

You are staying on site and going the end of August..........sweet!

sleep in to 8:00, no worries at all.

late/end of august generally has no or very little crowds.

you will have the perk of using the express lines for everything due to the fotl.

you can take your time in the parks easily.

That's 95% correct, but Pteranodon Flyers at IOA does not have a separate FOTL line (unless that's changed recently?), so if your kids are like mine and want to do that one, you should try to hit that ride early. Other than that, just pick what looks good and walk right in! Have fun!

The P Flyers is the only attraction that does not take Express passes.

The best part of staying on-site at Universal is the FOTL perk. We love the fact that we don't have to get up early and can just take our time and still see and do everything.

The best part of planning at Universal is you dont have to plan!!:thumbsup2
No ADR's no worrys about hitting the parks early cause your staying on-site.Well P-Flyers you got to get there early, lines get long.
Sleep in,hit the parks,grab a great rest to eat at,no worry's mate....
When your at US your really on a vacation!!:thumbsup2

Just ride whatever you want whenever you want. No plan necessary. Say you want to ride MiB 12x in a row to improve your score--go for it. Want to just ride water rides for an hour or two? Have at it! Just go and have fun. No need to plan, unless you only have 1 day.

the only caveat to that is that portions of IOA in particular are reflective white concrete and get really hot midday. If you're up and moving it just feels more pleasant at 9 and 10 am. The parks will be closing early, so you won't be able to enjoy the evening hours.
