I would like to think that I know the 'ins and outs' of how to tour Disney with as much as I look at crowd calendars, best parks, etc.
This next mini trip I am doing something out of my ordinary....
1. I am going in a PEAK season (I have always planned my vacations during VALUE)
2. I am only visiting the parks for 1 day (normally I'm there for a week)
3. I am purposefully attending a park that every crowd calendar tells me to stay away from due to PM EMH (we are stopping to visit Disney so my son can experience what DHS has to offer for Star Wars).

I do plan on hopping over to Epcot at some point during the day to ride Test Track and Soarin, but not sure what a smart plan of action would be.

So far, I have my FP+ for DHS.....I'm thinking of heading to Epcot at rope drop to hop on Soarin and the move on over to Test Track. From there either walk or take the boat to DHS and just get used to the idea that I will be waiting over an hour for anything I don't have a FP for. Any suggestions for me?

Just think about standard warm-weather touring protocol, including

--Hydrate before arriving in Orlando--don't be playing catch-up on getting properly hydrated
--Use RD
--Hydrate early and often during your touring day
--If you're eating lunch in the parks, eat someplace air conditioned
--Get an afternoon break
--If you can't get an afternoon break, try to save the air conditioned attractions where you'll be sitting (e.g., CoP, Ellen, One Man's Dream, FotLK) for the afternoon
--Keep hydrating

One recommendation I have is to book a late lunch reservation, say around 1:30. Many might suggest a counter service so as to maximize time on rides and for shows, but I think that having that break out of the sun at a place where you can relax and take advantage of unlimited refills on a drink, especially during peak wait times, will be a big help. I'd recommend Sci Fi Dine In. If you aren't wanting to do a table service, consider Backlot Express for lunch. They have free refills. You really want to stay hydrated.

My husband will be working from POP - I had planned on hopping back on the buses around 1:30 to go back to POP and eat a late lunch and take in some swim time. From there we are going back out to DHS to ride Toy story and ToT with our fastpasses. I hope that ends up working
