Hi everyone. I was just able to log in around 7:45 edt. I wanted to look at the updated character dining vacation article. It loaded ***very*** slowly, and eventually I got a message from windows saying that a script on the webpage was slowing it down, and did I want to continue running the script. After I said no it was better, but something still seems up. I'll post this on the TGM tech forum, too.

Don't log in.. Mike has the tech guys working on the problem.. Don't put your computer at risk...

Yep, site is back up. At the risk of sounding like some old movie (was it Marathon Man?) - I feel like saying "is it safe"? There was a message from TGM about the virus a little while ago and it said don't log in until the message was gone. It's gone now. And since I'm on my mac anyway, and didn't have any issues, I'll go risk it!

Just tried again and got a message (with TGM logo) that they're doing routine maintenance (uh-huh!) and the site is temporarily down.

Just FYI--did a full system scan and I have tracking cookies, but no virus. Hurray!!!!

Even better - when I did sign on (it was working for a few minutes), I already had a PM from Christine!

Personally, I was a TGMer (but not a forum poster) long before joining here - both places have their merits, especially when the DIS Boards will take in us homeless folks!

Hi everyone!


Firstly, I apologize that this happened to everyone using the site today. As best as we can tell it began happening this morning. Anyone who logged into tourguidemike.com at any point today should run an antivirus scan of their computer just to be completely safe. No one should have been infected because this was not a new virus and is already known about by the antivirus software companies, and you also had to grant permission for the install.

Secondly, the site has been up for a few seconds here and there for the last 30 min. or so, but that was only so that we could visually scan the site and ensure everything is okay. At first I didn't realize that -- I'm not our IT guy ... -- and had removed the 'Do not login' message at the top of the home and purchase page. For the record, all offending scripts have already been successfully removed.

Those warning messages are now back up and will remain until I know that everything is fine and have been given the 'ok & totally safe' from our server hosting folks. In fact, for the most clarity, I'll still have a note at the top of the public home page that announces we were having technical difficulties earlier in the day, was offline for a couple of hours, but are now back up and operating ...

I thank everyone for their generous patience. Honestly, I was expecting anger but everyone's been very understanding and I appreciate that beyond words. I'll post back to this thread too when we're back up and ready for you. Until then, happy planning on these fantastic DISboards.com forums!
