I don't think it's fair to blame the woman and say, "why didn't she do this, why didn't she do that?" I am sure she was in shock, as no one expects for that to happen to them at Disneyland. And, she had her 12 year old daughter with her. Very sad situation.

I don't think anyone is blaming her. Certainly this was not her fault. BUT the reason perverts do this to women over and over (ever ride the subway in NYC?) is because the chances are, most women won't cause a scene - it's too humiliating. Still...it's really important to not let them get away with this and as hard as it may be...ladies, we need to speak up. It was good that she alerted the CM but of course he was gone by then...I'm sure he's done this many times before.

It's very sad. I hope she isn't too traumatized after this.

How horrible! I hope they can catch him, but she should have tried to stop him right away and gotten help from others on the ride. BOO

i'm just thinking that TOT is such a loud ride...it would be really tough to get anyone's attention during the ride, you know? and everyone gets out so fast when it's over.

personally, i can see myself being really intimidated if i'd been in a similar situation without my husband or another man i knew around.

i hope they catch the guy. what a freak. i wish they could catch ALL the freaks, and dispose of them accordingly.

I am sorry if someone posted about this already (I did try and search)...

Last night on our local news here in Los Angeles (same news for Anaheim) there was story of a woman who was "inappropriately grabbed" while riding TOT. The police have the picture from the ride (obtained from Disney) and are looking for the guy.

Now, I have been on this ride dozens of times and have never heard of such a thing, so I am not bringing this up to try and scare and people from TOT, or any amusement park ride for that matter. I just think it's important to find this creep. It is an unfortunate incident and I feel so badly for this woman.

Please take the time to Google the pic (they showed it on the news) to see if you might know the guy (they think he might be a local and I know a lot of locals are here on the DIS).

I would have pounded him, don't think I wouldn't have. Any part of you that ever touchs me again you aren't getting back POW!! That would stop him.

I don't mean to call into question her honesty, as I do believe that this happened as she claims. But out of curiosity, how could you prove something like this? If he denied doing it, on what grounds could he be detained and what kind of penalty would he face?

Also, as they were getting off the ride or when the CM opens the doors, before s/he unlatches, why didn't she scream and go off! I would have kicked his *** as he was trying to get out! Like literally kicked him, etc.! For sure there would have been some serious swear words coming out of my mouth!

Just saying you already have convicted the guy, with no evidence other than her statement.

Did you not look at the photo? I don't think anyone is suggesting drawing and quartering the guy without getting his side of the story, but I cannot think of a single reason why he should be encroaching on a stranger's space that way.

Also, it's pretty tough to call this a "he-said / she-said situation" when HE didn't stick around long enough to say *anything*.

I have to agree with you! I would be screaming my butt off! Not running up and using my cell phone to take a pic of the screen! The pic only stays up for a few minutes, so did she tell the CM after she took the pic with her cell or RIGHT away?!? The more I read into this, the more I wonder a few things! Still sucks, but it should make all of us aware to scream and kick if something like this happens to us!

yes I saw the pic....and if you didn't do anything would you be sticking around or going off to the next attraction?

What I am saying is that since the supposed incident happened in the dark, how can you prove or disprove that it happened.....she says it did and he would (I am sure) say it didn't.

Well, to begin with, I certainly wouldn't be caught on camera leering at and trying to touch a stranger. Just to start. But if I was, then I'd have to say that yes, I would most likely try to get as far away from the scene as possible.

As far as I know, he isn't on trial, he is wanted for questioning, so proof isn't the issue. If they are able to identify him and say, he has a criminal background of similar (alleged) behavior, that, along with this photo and the woman's statement would possibly be enough evidence, albeit circumstantial, to get him a nice little vacation in the county jail. Or in front of a jury, at the very least.

No one is suggesting he be hanged. But I'd certainly hope everyone would agree that he should be questioned, if they can ever identify him. Just because there wasn't a rape committed or bodily fluids left on her sweater doesn't mean a crime wasn't committed or that it should be taken lightly.

No! he wasn't enjoying it at all. He was screaming to get me to let go. But he shouldn't have started it. I finished it.

The next time was a flasher, who I told, "If that's all I had, I'd put it away!" he stopped flashing our aptments after that.

We haven't convincted anyone, there's no other side because he RAN AWAY. Running speaks more highly of guilt then staying and denying does. Besides, I already made the same "he said/she said" comment, how would they prove he did anything wrong? No one saw it, the photo won't show it, he said/she said all the way. But, the guy looks creepy, he's leering in her direction and she's obviously looking surprised, you can't deny that.

You know you can say what you'd do but honestly, you never know until it's happening to you. I can tell you with absolute honesty that they are 2 very different experiences. Besides it doesn't say she took a pic with her cell, it says she informed the CM and they provided the photo to the police, it also says she has a copy of the photo. Yes the photos are only up for everyone to see for a few minutes but the parks keep them for a while. We had a photo taken 1 trip and decided the NEXT DAY to buy it, we took the photo number to the CM and she pulled it right up, no problems at all. So they do keep the photos on file for at at least a day.

Terrible situation but unfortunately even if they identified the assailant, barring any other additional testimony or evidence they wouldn't have anything enough to even get an arrest.

I wish her the best and that she can enjoy the parks again soon.

However I do not hope Disneyland reacts overtly and stations security everywhere as she suggests. That would affect the vibe and more importantly would invariably drive up ticket and pass prices.

The perils of living in a world full of creepolas and going to theme parks where you will be in close quarters and the lights will be going out with strangers within arm's reach is what this is.

I would have punched the dude in the nose... and probably wound up booted or incarcerated myself as I don't have any faith in most police or security. Ironic it would be.

I watched the taped piece. Even the daughter knew these guys were leering at her mother[she says she flashed her mother's diamond ring at them].

The Mother should never have gotten in the same car with the creeps. You can ask the the CM's to move you to another car. Especially in this case, where she was already uncomfortable and had no man to be with her.

She needs to be more aware of her suroundings and the people in it. Although just getting engage may have empowered her just a little too much.
