Just for you Bill!

You will be issued a wristband, without the wristband you won't be allowed to race, to come into MGM or anything. Anyone NOT wearing one will be picked up and escorted away.

You must have photo ID to pick up your packet, packet pickup remains the same at Pleasure Island, IN MOTION.

Race Party tickets must picked up when packets are. There are very few race party tickets left.

Race Pins must be picked up then too. They will not be mailed.

Merchandise will be available (Bill, is someone shopping for you?) It will also be available after the race at ToT.

Baggage claim is available, The will use a tear off number for your baggage and you have to have your bib number to pick it up.

There will be 4 water stops on the 13K and 1 on the 6.5.

You have to sign a waiver when you pick up your packet. If someone picks it up for you they must have your photo ID, signed waiver and a permission slip to pick it up.

Arrival: Arrive by 8:30 pm. NO transportation will be available to or from the race. Road closures begin at 8:30.

Free Race parking.

You can enter or exit the park with your arm band.

You must wear the bib number in the race. You will be removed from the race without it.

There will be photographers at the end.

There is limited spectator viewing.

the post race party is available only to wrist band wearers, there will be a band performing under the hat and the following attractions will be open.

Notice: The Stunt Action Car show is now missing from the line up.

Food and beverages can be had for a price.

That's pretty much it. To get to the race and from the race you can call a cab or you can take a bus to Downtown Disney to Pleasure Island, then to Boardwalk and walk to MGM. The walk is about 3/4 mile. To return you can just do it all in reverse.

The way I read it...we could take regular Disney transportation to the race (unless MGM closes early that night--haven't looked at park hours)...
but we have to find our own way back? That sort of sux.

And...they're not even going to give us a banana or something after the race? Some party.... hope they at least have a decent selection of food to buy.

Will be fun anyway.

You won't be able to get to MGM using regular transportation it closes at 7:30You would have to hang around in the parking lot or something, I guess. Downtown Disney has buses running to the resorts until 2:00 am, I think. So you can take a bus to Downtown Disney, transfer to the Boardwalk bus and then make the 3/4 mile walk to the MGM studio parking lot where the corrals will be. Then you can go home in reverse.

From past experience, the last transport (boat, bus, etc.) leaves the park 1 hour after closing. So, I'm hoping to hop a boat from Epcot to MGM. I've emailed disneysports.com to confirm, but I'm not too confident I'll receive a response before next week.

Disneybelle, even if that doesn't work, according to Robert's site, it is only a 1/4 mile walk from Epcot to the Boardwalk and then 3/4 to MGM. A nice little warm up as it were. That is, if my memory serves....Of course, you could take the bus to Epcot which doesn't close until 9:00 and then get the bus to boardwalk and walk the 3/4 mile......

I am pretty sure that the only way to leave MGM after ToT is to go route through Pleasure Island and then to the resorts unless you call a cab.....There may be plenty of those cruising around, too!

Kidlets and I prefer the walk between MGM and Epcot rather than the boat, but we have family coming who are unable to walk long distances.

I'm also hoping we can get a cab post-event for the same reason.

so... walk to Boardwalk and do the whole BW/DTD/resort trick? ugh.
I'm thinking cab would be worth it, but it isn't very nice that they are somewhat forcing us to do that. (not really force, but you know what I mean)

Yea, I agree. I already ordered a cab. If some people are going to the same resort, there are companies that have vans available. A1A is one of those companies, but I am sure the cabbies will coming back looking for more easy fares, too.

WWDave and Erica did EPCOT tonight and Illuminations. Great evening. Dave was getting jealous so can in a day early

Thank you very much for posting the instructions summary.

As a matter of fact, I don't have an executive personal shopper yet. Any volunteers for the position? I don't pay (but will reimburse actual costs), am on a budget, like to complain, have a somewhat warped sense of humor and am a hard to fit, super-Pooh sized guy. On the plus side, I am house broken (for the most part), don't bite (usually) and hey, it is shopping. Applicants can PM their resumes to me.

I will also e-mail WDW sports again to verify whether I can pick up my packet at MGM Saturday evening per its prior response to me. If not, I'll need to find out how to get a waiver to sign in advance and hopefully make arrangements with someone to assist with that to.

So, after all his.complaining about Robert forcing him to go to WDW for the Minnie, Dave sneaks off to WDW early thinking we wouldn't find out. Interesting.
