Does anyone here have one? :confused3

I feel lost, I just got when as a combination birthday/Christmas gift and I don't even know what it is.
Don't laugh, but I don't even have a laptop, I use a desktop computer. I know it will great, just not
sure yet what I can do with it (just got it an hour ago!).

Thanks for any hints/advice!!

I bought one for my son this past Black Friday. It's a tablet, like the Ipad. Have someone set it up for you. I haven't set his up yet but from what I've read it's a good one!

That's a NICE (and not cheap) gift! :goodvibesWho gave it to you, snappp??

I never had an iPad :sad2: I'm so behind the times - can I browse the web with it and do banking and stuff?

Also, is it compatible with iTunes, can I put pics on it, etc?

My best friend of 30 years gave it to me

My wife's is scheduled to be delivered later today, I'll tell her to get back to ya. :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm waiting til tomorrow to tackle it! :upsidedow

I'm still waiting on the UPS man. :headache:

I have to get up early for work tomorrow so I don't know how much I'll figure out tonight. So, when I come back to this thread tomorrow, maybe you'll be able to help me. :lmao:

You can only use iTunes with Apple products.

If you only have a desktop and don't know much about computers, then I would guess you do not have a wireless router to connect to the internet. You would need a wireless router for the tablet to connect to.

Wireless routers can be gotten very cheaply and are pretty easy to set up. My husband's Thrive arrives tomorrow. He's really looking forward to it!

You can load pics on it from an SD card. There's also both a front and rear camera you can take pics with.

So...I've been playing for a few hours and I will say that having an Android phone has helped immensely. I understand the operating system and how to manage apps, etc.

There are two app groups available...I prefer the Android Market. It's easier to use than the other app on the Thrive. Easier to search for specific apps, etc.

Also, there's a user's guide available on one of the screens. (I believe it was placed on the second screen if you scroll to the right) You can click on this and then it takes you to a screen to download the guide book. I did this. It's about 130 pages long, but it's got lots of good info and it takes you through everything step by step.

That's all I've got for now. :lmao: I'm having fun!

If you can wait till 12/25th in the afternoon my son can give you all the info you'll ever need! :lmao: But for now it's in a box in my closet incognito. I bought myself a little cheap tablet and I LOVE it. I know it's not up to the scale of theToshiba but it'll make my son feel better about mine!

snappp and Goofyluver: there is a forum for the Thrive that might be helpful...http://www.thriveforums.org/forum/forum.php

Thanks Robin! :worship:

Thanks everyone; once I get some caffeine in my system I'll open the box! I don't have a wireless router (yet) :guilty:

OK, am I going to need to buy a separate keyboard to use the internet? I already have a kindle and an iPod, and this is not a phone. I'm confused what I would use this for, I see it has a camera, but I have a digital camera. If I just want the internet wouldn't a laptop be better for me? :confused3 I'm wondering if I should just exchange it before I start trying to set it up.

No, if you want to type a virtual keyboard will pop up. I got Mike a stand and a separate keyboard so he can use it like a laptop.

Try it out first! A laptop with more specs will cost much more. Also, tablets are more portable, like a bigger phone. If you don't like it you can still exchange it if she got it from a reputable place.

All I want is a very basic laptop to go on the internet when I'm at my house. I have the desktop here. Can I access my yahoo mailbox on this thing?

Maybe your friend can help you set it up 'n make you a li'l more comfortable with it. Yes, you can access your yahoo mail on it 'n you do have til Jan 31st to return it, QVC's Christmas sale, love it!!

Maybe I should just take a deep breath :upsidedow

I felt this scared when I first got the iPod, the Kindle, the home computer (5 years ago!). Now I know how my mother felt back in the '80's when I bought them an Atari! :lmao:

Yeah, just calm down, it's gonna be alright. Ask your friend to come over 'n help ya set it up, but you should also have her set up your new wireless router that you should go get so you can really enjoy that tablet. Just imagine yourself anywhere in the house usin' that tablet rather than sittin' at that desktop. In a month you'll wonder how you lived without it. :rotfl:

My friend really knows nothing about technology - I'm more advanced than her! :lmao: I did set up my desktop by myself, figure out the iPod and Kindle, etc. This just seems like something for younger people, I don't need games and apps. I don't know if I can start to set it up and then return it if I don't like it? I really want a small laptop with Windows. I don't mean to sound ungrateful - just feel uncomfortable. :upsidedow
