Disney "kind of" messed up the one night premium package for us, we did (2) one night packages just this past September. It was nothing major and for the most part, DH got (4) 6 hour fishing excursions that is mainly what we booked it for and it paid for itself and he had the time of his life, "ya just don't catch large mouth bass that big here in PA).

Anyways, I posted the other day that I sent an email to Disney and they would like to somehow make it up to us, they gave us a few options, the one I like is the following...

We book a mod resort and premium package and they complimentary upgrade us to ANY deluxe resort we choose and they complimentary upgrade us to the Platinum Package.............so I priced it out, we would be paying $441 x 2 nights for (1 adult)and getting to stay Platinum at ANY Deluxe resort for 2 nights (we would pick club level @ either the Yacht Club or the GF early December). If I decide I want to do the Platinum too, I will add myself officially to the reservation but at this time, I will be there but not on "paper". The Spa certificate is transferable, so I will use that while he fishes, the club level provides snacks, continental breakfast and etc....we will only eat big dinners, he fishes till 2pm. The restaurants did not care that his premium card said (01), they said as long as he has the "allotment", it's okay by them, I asked last time to avoid embarrassment, but I was on the DXDP anyways. Same with the recreation, fishing he was allowed to bring guests, bikes, he was allowed to bring a guest...etc. I am not sure about the Fireworks cruise, but the person at the YC marina said as long as one person "paid", regardless if it's cash or Platinum, they are entitled to a guest. I have a few days to decide and I have to book through a special department in Disney to get the upgrade we want.

They can bring a non-Premium "guest" to non-ticketed Premium perks???


I'm guessing that policy is going to change pretty soon, once word gets out.

In case they decide to check everyone's KTWW card would you have one? I'm guessing not. You and hubbie normally would have to have the same package deal correct?

I personally would not risk it. At any time they could decide to enforce the rules and not let you dine with him on his credits (since it would only have 1 adult). You could also be shut out of the guest allowance you said they allowed previously.

I would just pay OOP, not a problem. we informed them at Cali Grille/Narcoosees/YCthat 1 person was premium, one person was deluxe, all 3 times, they just took it off the Premium plan. Fishing, the same thing, as long as one person pays for Premium per the management, the same rules apply, you are permitted to bring guests not on the plan, per the marina people! As for the fireworks cruise, I believe it states that one boat is set aside just for platninum guests, so you can't bring your 10 guests!! Bikes, not a problem either, the person on the plan rents the bike!

The fishing trips sound wonderful! My DDad would love that! Too bad next year they change the requirements! Hope you 2 have fun
