Hi! Anyone have any luck with getting on the walk-up list for Topolinos breakfast? I’ve been checking occasionally leading up to our trip in a few weeks and have only seen it open once. And does anyone know how close you have to be? We’ll be at the Swan and Yacht.
Thanks!

You will need to be at RIV or at least very close to it. Swan and Yacht are too far to join the walk-up list. When I stayed at Yacht, I couldn't even join the walk-up list for Trattoria from there.

Topolinos question

Staying at riviera for our welcome home trip Nov 19th to the 26th. Really hoping to get into topolinos for both breakfast and dinner during our stay. Figured I would try to book breakfast on my 60+8 day (departure day), but if I am not able to book dinner on the 60 day mark through the 60+7 day. How does the walk up process work? Assuming I have to be at the resort, but what does the “start time” for a dinner walk in reservation look like?

Topolino's opens for dinner at 5 pm. In order to join the walk-up list (if available), you need to go to the MDE app on your phone, click on the plus sign at the bottom of the app, go to the dining reservation section, pick the current day and click "Now" - walk-up availability for all participating restaurants will be listed. I would probably be looking at the app at least 15 minutes prior to opening. The list typically fluctuates as the day goes on, but, typically, the earlier you go on, the better chance you have for a walk-up. While checking the app, you could also go to the podium at the restaurant and check on availability. When looking for ADRs, I would check on your day 7 first and then work backwards.

For those of you who are hoping to walk-up, you have a good chance of getting in. Stayed at Riviera last month.

Dinner - Changed my mind for arrival day and stalked the Reservations site. Easily found a dinner reservation the day before arrival day (so don't lose hope). I keep typing this, but it's true. People are holding multiple reservations per meal period and canceling right before the 24 hr mark. As such, you have a good chance of getting even hard-to-get reservations within 24 hrs. Noticed that there was a sign at the host stand that said "accepting walk-ups" when we arrived to dine. I believe the bar / lounge section is first-come, first-serve. There was space in the restaurant throughout the night - meaning empty tables both in the dining room & at the bar. Not sure if they hold a certain # for walk-ups.

Breakfast - Kept my reservation that I booked 60 days out. Again, sign was up stating "accepting walk-ups" when we arrived at the host stand. We overheard the host mentioning to people that they were welcome to sit at the bar / in the lounge. The prix fixe price and menus were the SAME in the bar / lounge as they were in the dining room. However, the characters do NOT go to this section to say "hi" from a distance. You can still see the whole song and dance, but it's at a distance and the characters will likely not face you in the bar / lounge. They will also not pose for photographs (at a distance) for those in the bar / lounge. The hostesses were very good about explaining this, as they should be because you're paying for the full experience but not receiving the character aspect of it. Many adults were fine with this and there were a decent number of adults (couples) sitting at the bar and high-tops in the bar / lounge area. I do not know if they allow children to sit in the bar / lounge area for breakfast. My guess is yes because I saw kids in that area for dinner. However, it likely is such a tease that they're not closer / allowed to participate in the whole show.

Good luck whatever you decide to do. The restaurant is great and it was a nice "new" experience for us. We also LOVE the resort.

Empty tables don't mean much, it could mean the restaurant isn't fully staffed, but I have had luck getting them within a day or so (dinner - never done breakfast).

Maybe crazy quesiton. But I'm heading there off season in Sept. I'm sort of hoping (unless a last minute res opens up which happens the day before often lately) but if I head there and show up like 10 min before opening, I could get a walk up? I'm a very seasoned WDW goer but this is one maneuver that I have never tried. Has any one tried this. Does it seem like a reasonable attempt??

We were last in Disney like 2 months ago and wanted to go to Topolinos. The night before we checked the app and there were reservations Available so keep checking. We liked it so much we went back the next night and just showed up. The bar has tables that are first come first served and seating at the bar has a full menu if that’s an option for you. Both times we were bar seating and tables were available the whole time.

This is good to know for our early November trip. We’ll be staying there for 4 nights. If we don’t luck out with an ADR, we’ll give walk-up a try.

The restaurant opens at 5PM I believe and we were told by the cast member that if you’re there at 5 when the restaurant opens you can almost always get a seat at the bar. The day we didn’t have a reservation we got there at 5 to sit at the bar. They offered us a dining room table but we were actually happy to sit at the bar. As long as you don’t mind eating so early LOL. But like I said we were there for an hour and a half and there were still bar tables available when we left

Great! Thanks for the info!
