What's a trip without a list or multiple lists!
laughing:
And you better do a TR! That's mandatory and non-negotiable.
I definately don't think you will be bored for a minute. I have read Podsnel's HH TR's and she is always doing something. No boredom there - that's for sure!
And I have already bought two things for the trip! One of my plans for spring break is to tackle the trip drawer and see what I still need.
I will do a TR -- no fear there! I need to go find Podsnel's Hilton Head reports and read them!
Mickey bars and the smell of the ocean - a wonderful start!
What are some of the activities you guys can do while you are there? Are there things like mini-golf and go-karts for the kids? Museums? A zoo? I know nothing of the area, so it will be fun to follow along on your planning.
It will be great to see a Disney resort that is not in Disney World, since I haven't seen those in trip reports yet.
Mickey bars and the smell of the ocean sound heavenly!
There are some things for kids there like a little water park and mini-golf, but I am not sure what all we will do -- I guess I should give that some thought.
Huge changes! Sounds like a good one though.
I will anxiously follow along to see where you do end up.
Thanks! Right now, Hilton Head seems like it will be the winner for the Summer 2010 trip!
I think the beach is a great alternative Jackie! Really, reading your plans is making me wish for waves and sand myself. We had decided not to take a family vacation this year, but I wonder if Don could be persuaded????
A beach vacation is always so much fun! I am glad we are heading back there this year -- I hadn't realized how much I missed it until we started planning this trip! I definitely think you should try and convince Don to go to the beach!
You are right MEK....Podsnel was always up to something! I remember reading the report and between dinners and the beach there was always something to do.
Okay....I just went and looked on the DVC member website and took a tour of your room!

Looks really nice....very pretty decor

I just love the beach and come to think of it the last time was in 2007 on the Wonder...before that it was OBX and a few years at that. Wayyyyyyy too long!
Another plus is that YOU won't have to drive as long

Can't wait to hear more details.....
Tracy
Hi, Tracy! I think I will have to go find Podsnel's trip reports. I want to see what all they did while they were in Hilton Head.
I love the theming of the HHI resort -- as Happydog said, it has a very summer camp-like feel to it!
Only driving for five and a half hours is going to be great!
I think you are going to start a new trend here Jackie!
I'm longing for a Hilton Head vacation.
I may beg Shocker for some Hilton Head points before the year is up!

The resale contracts for HHI are at awesome prices -- I think most of the ones I have seen have been around $50 a point.
Hi CP
glad you have made a decision on what to do w/ the trip...I think I missed something though
did you confess to the kids about the "secret" to get the ocean votes?
anyways I love ocean vacays too...
And Disney to boot, what fun. I have never been to HH or the DVC there...but fellow diser irishdancer is just finishing up a week there you should pm her!
sorry it's not the World but glad you are still able to have this fun b-day trip and still get a little Disney fix.
J~
Hi, Julie! We didn't confess to the kids but did ask them which they would rather do. We haven't told them that we have booked anything yet which makes it kind of dicey -- yesterday they were telling my SIL all about the Hilton Head resort (her family goes to Hilton Head every summer), and she was very interested. Since we were in the car, I couldn't tell her that we already had dates and a room booked.
I have been reading irishdancer's TR -- they seem to be having a blast there.
