Yesterday was the big day of our reveal to Chelsea. Connor already knew and had been taking the links off his countdown for the past couple of days.
We chose yesterday since Chelsea would be coming home from visiting her grandfather and his wife, Ms. Joan, in Dallas, Texas for the past week. So, before I tell you about the reveal, I have to tell you a little bit about her trip. It was her first time flying alone, and I was a nervous wreck. This trip had been hers and her grandfathers idea, and she didnt seem the least bit bothered by any of it until we were at the airport, and it was time for her to board. Then, all of a sudden, Chelsea threw her arms around my neck, refused to let go, and cried, Dont leave me, Mommy! Dont leave me! Dont make me get on the airplane all by myself! She was like a three-year-old on the first day of preschool and made a complete spectacle of herself. I really wanted to announce to the waiting passengers that this trip had not been my idea.
Anyway, Chelsea had a great time with her grandfather and Ms. Joan after surviving the flight. Actually, she said she really liked the flight because there was a lot of turbulence, and it was just like a roller coaster. Crazy girl. They took her to the US Mint, the aquarium, a couple of museums, ice skating, shopping, out to eat, and to watch fireworks. They also enlisted her help to pick out two cats, and Chelsea and Ms. Joan made a quilt together to match her new room. She had a wonderful vacation, but I know she was ready to come home at the end of it.
When she got off the airplane, she was wearing her new cowboy boots and a pair of shorts. Thats my girl. LOL!
In case you didnt see the pictures on Facebook, here she is in her new boots.
Not sure what she was trying to do in this picture. LOL!
Here is the quilt she made with Ms. Joan.
When we arrived home after a LONG drive through Atlanta, she headed to her room. I heard, Whats this? Oh, and Minnie brought me presents? Silly Bandz!!! I hurried in to see what her reaction would be and tell her the Silly Bandz were from Miss Anita, but she told me she didnt want to open the card until she had unpacked. Fine.
Finally, she opened the card and L.O.V.E.D. it. She giggled and giggled over the pictures and the poem. She asked me, Did you write the poem? to which I promptly replied, No. Bo did. But then she got that look on her face, and I told her Poolrat had helped Bo write it since he was a man of few words. LOL! I also told her about MeMom and Jill dressing him up, and she said, He looks good. You know that long drawn out good that teenage girls say!
This morning, I noticed Bo had a spot on one of her bookcases.
Almost ten days and time to do online check-in!
