Top of World Lounge opening!!

Does this imply going forward that TOTWL will only be for BLT DVC guests, and not all DVC members? (In other words, I can't get in unless I'm actually staying at BLT.)
All of this makes me wonder if they'll ever open Reunion Station, too.

That's just been the norm for Dec 30-31 as well as July 3-4 (before they added paid parties).

If they made it so only staying at BLT gives you access to TOWL, I would sell all my contracts to buy at BLT. That is how much I love that lounge.

They already had that and it's not enough to support the lounge so they won't go backwards that way. But if they did decide to not have the lounge open but only the observation deck then I could see that potentially being BLT guests only. I don't give that a lot of hope though even though it would be a simple thing to do.

Totally agree. It's not financially viable to have a full-service lounge only for BLT guests. Been tried, failed.

Opening up the observation deck only to BLT guests with limited service may be viable. The profits required to have one attendant with a drink cart aren't that serious at $18/hour+employment taxes and benefits, which probably doubles the staff run cost to $36-40/hour to operate. Selling some prefab drinks and snacks from a cart may cover the breakeven.

I hope they open it back up as it was before. While I was very glad to enjoy the NYE fireworks, the whole thing was a shadow of its former self. The indoor part is really beautiful, and I love the nostalgic Bob Gurr artwork behind the bar.

I’m not sure what trend he meant but as general Disney trend the “reimagined” immediately put me on alarm that it will be behind a paywall. His cryptic message saying to guard expectations furthers that concern.

Reimagined = do not expect the same access rules or experience. Maybe it just means a new menu. Maybe it means something else entirely. The word is doing some pretty heavy lifting in the announcement.
