Just wanted to start a list in case an unsuspecting newbie had this question, to help avoid them from getting flamed. I was thinking maybe if a newbie has a controversial question and knew ahead of time that it's a hot Dis topic, they could word it in a way that might avoid the flames....People can get pretty hot tempered on here sometimes...

Here's what I've seen should be discussed carefully:

1) Rules about no wearing Healys in the parks
2) Rule about no resort pool hopping
3) Rules about using the resort mugs
4) Tipping!!
5) Bringing young children to signature restaurants
6) Smoking & designated smoking areas
7) Use of ECV's in the parks
8) Healthy food options at the parks

Did I miss anything?? Please keep this objective. I am NOT looking for people to start a fight with their opinions on the matter!! Just a running list of topcs that might want to be worded delicately ;)

9. Taking kids out of school for a trip to WDW

(I've never read threads on the resort mugs issue! Now I'm curious - what could be so controversial??? I'll have to find a thread!)

TGM vs the UG always starts civil and gets ugly.

Using resort parking as opposed to paying for parking is another 'hot' topic.

Saving a place in line for friends or family members
and/or
Leaving a line and then returning back to the spot you left

Why do families spend their hard earned money on a Disney World trip? I hate that one!

I didn't know you couldn't swim in another resorts pool. I just figured if you were staying at a Dis Resort you can check on the other pools. Who knew.

Food allergies -- I got in trouble over that one (I was insensitive).

Breastfeeding in the World will get hot fast, so I recommend talking about that one on the families board. I've always found support there.

I am a victim of getting flamed for asking about that one, and boy can it get ugly!

I won't get into it on here to avoid a heated discussion, but if you do a search or look on the restaurant boards, you will come across some that are likely closed.

here's One:

Going to Disney while having credit card debt

The Budget Board will beat you to a pulp!!!

Don't ever ask if your child should use a stroller. If that child is over two, you're going to hear how fat and lazy kids are today, how you should just leave the parks when they're tired, and how people with strollers are always using them as battering rams.

Tread with extreme caution when asking about the GAC on the disabilities board. You will get some great advice, but many will assume you want a front-of-the-line pass and will question the authenticity of your disability.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. Every board has their pet peeves.
