It was always going to be tough replacing Padma, and I would've loved to see Gail slide over to the host chair, but I think Kristen Kish is a solid choice. Knows her stuff, has hosting experience, and can relate to what the cheftestants are going through. I hope she doesn't take the first few episodes personally though, because people will absolutely compare her to Padma while she's finding her footing.

I'll miss Padma, but I also think this is a solid choice. They've had her on the show a lot in recent seasons, so maybe they were grooming her to take over.

I was thrilled to see Kristen get the seat! She's an amazing chef and has a dynamic personality. I think she'll do an amazing job :).

I still prefer the cooking shows where the chef actually makes a dish following a recipe and talks about what they are doing so we can apply those techniques to make this at home. These contests where they race around and throw together a bunch of ingredients have never appealed to me. Any number off variations of those now on TV. Much rather watch I. Garten or M. Simon cooking something instead of people in some parking lot buying mystery ingredients from shoppers !!!

If you were to watch only one cooking competition show, watch Top Chef. If you were to watch two, watch Top Chef and Tournament of Champions (but skip over parts with Hunter Fieri).

It sounds like you have never watched Top Chef. It's well worth the time, there are lots of past seasons.
It's not a cheap food network game show.

Wow! It’s amazing how many years this show has been on. I loved it the first 5 seasons when my kids were babies/preschool. They are adults now :scared1:

Also, Season 21 is going to be in Wisconsin, with obvious emphasis on Milwaukee and Madison. I foresee a couple beer and cheese challenges.

I was wondering who was going to take over for Padma. It will be interesting to see how she does. I love Top Chef, it’s one of my favorite shows.

Big fan of Top Chef but as the years have gone on, I’ve found Padma to be more and more condescending, rude, and opinionated for someone much less qualified than those she was judging. In the beginning she was the host not a judge. Loved Kristin on the show and she has the credibility to host and judge.

Unlike Family Feud Wheel of Fortune, I am excited for this replacement! Great chef with a good personality. Will be interesting to see how she can sympathize with the cheftestants as she’s been in their shoes before.

Bravo on the replacement, Bravo! 😉

(Edited because I put in wrong show! I blame Seacrest for my error, just because I want to. 🙃)

I’m guessing you’re thinking of Wheel of Fortune?

Or did Steve Harvey get fired?
