Top Chef All Stars starts 12/1/10! No ADVANCE Spoilers!

I guess I need to look up Padma's new word "motorboat" because I haven't a clue.:confused3

Was it weird to anyone else they asked Gayle who she would date out of the group and she said Spike

They asked Padma and she was naming girls

I laughed so hard when they were showing mikey and angelos "bromance!" It was hilarious when they showed them on the boat and angelo said, "this is so hard." and Mike goes, "that's what she said."

Antonia being the black hammer was so funny also.

I love how the judges real personalites come out, they are more relaxed during the reunion show.

I like the way Gayle answered it. Instead of just naming one of the guys (i.e., Fabio or Angelo) who many women are attracted to, she said Spike because he's Canadian and her husband is Canadian (I guess she's saying she gets/likes his personality/sense of humor) -- that's the way I took it anyway.

Padma -- Hmmmmm . . . Maybe she named women so she wouldn't be put on the spot about the guys (and have them hitting on her -- thinking they actually stood a chance) -- also, the women she named aren't lesbians, so that was another way to just make a joke *I think* -- who knows with her, though -- she was married to Salman Rushdie, after all -- yuck.

Loved the black hammer segment. I thought it was crazy to for Elia to challenge Tom like that.

I had to Tivo Top Chef Masters, so I haven't watched it yet. Will we have a new thread for that?

Spike might be fun to date; but I thought it was interesting when Padma started naming women.

I was surprised when Dale and Jen(n) seemed to agree with Elia about the meat thing. I'm not a fan of Jen(n), but I'm so glad her hair looked better last night than it did in the finale.

And selling out because you advertise Diet Coke? Weird.

And it looks like they pretty much agreed with me about the recipe thing... and I think it was Casey who said exactly what I did. That you can't copyright a recipe. And Richard even said that he would not have made the dish the same way.

So, I think the editing did a great job of blowing that whole thing out of proportion.

I don't think I could have handled Richard being on Masters.

I think that was the first reunion show that I actually laughed really out loud. :happytv: It was too funny. What about Marcel's "rap" video?? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

At least he had the decency to look embarrased and hide under his hoodie. :lmao:

Yikes, Elia - I guess you never want to work as a chef again? Surely you know you'll never get too far cuz I do believe that Tom's got a bit more pull than you do and, now, ever will. Yeesh, Padma even tried to help her out - "You don't have to answer that" and yet answer she did. :confused3

That actually sounded over-dubbed to me. Like they added it in for the edit, so they could claim they gave her a choice not to answer.

While I do get that Dale was trying to help clarify and bring the conversation back to the Elia's point, I just kept saying, "Shut up, Dale!" This is not a time you want someone else's mess sticking to you. :(

Elia was narrow-minded and extremely judgmental. Who was she to decide for Tom what standards he should have. He built his own career & reputation thus far without her input.

It's not that Tom has more pull. It's that who would trust her in his/her kitchen? What will she say if she doesn't like something her new employer is doing, and who will she say it to?

Why would any restaurant owner or executive chef take that risk?

Looks like Season 9 has commenced filming, and the location is...TEXAS!

Top Chef Texas Filming at Austin's The Driskill Hotel Friday
July 21, 2011 10:35 AM EDT

Top Chef Texas has yet to be confirmed by the show's producers, but that doesn't mean that it's not happening. In fact, it seems that further proof of the show is being doled out this Friday, when the cast and crew take to Austin's famed hotel, The Driskill, for filming.

With rumors of contestants and competitions taking place to date at Dallas' W Hotel and San Antonio hotspots Il Sogno, Luke and The Esquire, it is high time that the Bravo reality giant took to the Texas capital city, Austin, for their hijinks, is it not?

According to Shawn Cirkiel, a restaurateur in Austin, "Though we like to think of ourselves as a small town, we're both a national and international city. And with our growth, the expectations just keep getting bigger."

Aside from the rumors of the Top Chef crew filming in Austin, there is also rumored to be an Austinite competing in the upcoming season. The chef, Paul Qui, is the Executive Chef at recent addition Uchiko.

When I was watching "Rocco's Dinner Party" (or whatever it's called) last night, I saw that Top Chef: Just Desserts is starting back at the end of August. I like that one, too. Tonight I'll be eating at a restaurant that is owned by a former Top Chef contestant before I head to the Kathy Griffin concert. I'll be on a Bravo! high tonight. LOL

I love Mike Isabella's Graffiato so far. Was there last night, I work near it.

Fun! I've eaten in a couple of contestant's restaurants here in the NY area. I was positively star-struck when Harold from Season 1 stopped by the table to say hello! :lovestruc

Whose restaurant will you be going to?

Rocco was on Rachael Ray yesterday explaining the dishes he made. Rachael kept cutting him off and talking over him. I don't think he got to the period of a sentence once. :sad2: I kept wanting to say, "SHUT UP Rachael!!!" :headache:

She invites another expert chef on the show, them has to cut him off to prove SHE is the expert and that it's HER show. What is wrong with her? :sad2:
