Hello :) I'm trying to plan a Disney trip for next May or June, and I was just wondering what are the top 5 best and worst restaurants in Walt Disney World

My 5 Favorites:

1. California Grill at the Contemporary Resort
2. Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge
3. 'Ohana at the Polynesian
4. The Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club
5. Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian Resort

The only truly bad meals I've ever had have been at:

1. The Rose and Crown Pub in Epcot
2. The Flying Fish at the Boardwalk (and this wasn't really bad, the service was just terrible and the food was just unremarkable).

Here are my highly subjective lists!

Best -
1) Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian
2) Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge
3) California Grill at the Contemporary Resort
4) Citricos at the Grand Floridian
5) Kona Cafe at the Polynesian

Best Kept Secrets (I added this because I don't hear people talking or posting about these places very often) -
1) Nine Dragons in Epcot
2) Il Mulino at the Swan
3) Kimonos at the Swan
4) Cosmic Ray's (counter service but super fun) at MK
5) Raglan Road in Downtown Disney

Worst -
1) Le Cellier in Epcot
2) Paradiso 37 in Downtown Disney
3) Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot
4) Biergarten in Epcot
5) Kouzzina at the Boardwalk (we have tried and tried to like Kouzzina - breakfast is good and the signature dinner during F&W last year was outstanding - but we have never had a good regular dinner there)

Favorites:
Yachtsman
Bistro de Paris
Victoria & Alberts
Artist Point
Flying Fish

Least Favorite:
Big River Grill
Tony's
San Angel Inn
Coral Reef
Whispering Canyon

Disclaimer:
I'm sure you'll see a lot of overlap on the various lists - including many cross-overlaps (one person's Best is another's Worse). Just because you see a place on one of these lists doesn't mean you should, or shouldn't, dine there. Your taste is unique to you and you will likely disagree. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

Thank you all. I have dined at many places in disney, but I want to try new places. I am probably going to look up some of these places :)

My favorites...
1. Jiko (AKL)
2. Citricos (GF)
3. San Angel Inn (Epcot)
4. Liberty Tree Tavern (Lunch only) (MK)
5. Tusker House (Breakfast, haven't done the other meals yet)

(Of these 5, I'm returning to all but LTT this year. Not returning to LTT simply due to my plans for the parks).

My Least Favorite
5. Sci-Fi Dine In (Not bad, just was in the bottom set)
4. Cinderella's Royal Table (Service and food weren't up to expectations, server constantly spilling juice on the table, right near my camera (no matter where I moved said camera), and it seemed like we were a hassle to the staff in general (we were late due to navigation issues))
3. Hollywood & Vine (Lunch) (Food was mediocre and service was so-so. Was messy as well, but that was expected since there were lots of very little kids there, characters were great though!)

The only places I've actually had a not very enjoyable meal
2. 1900 Park Fare (breakfast) - Food quality and interaction and just seemed like an off day, service was good though.
1. Maya Grill - Loved this place in 2009 both times we went for dinner. 2010 was a different story. Slow, poor service, and very bland food.

However, as noted with Maya Grill, places and tastes change. I'd never simply say "I'll never go back there!" unless it was something absolutely horrible (which, over 2 trips and 2 years, hasn't been the case yet). I may not plan to return the next time I go, but eventually (even to Maya Grill), I'd likely return to give it another whirl.

Here are my top 5 (in order):

1. Citricos
2. Artist Point
3. Jiko
4. Yachtsman Steakhouse
5. California Grill

Bottom 4 (not really in any order):

Coral Reef
The Wave (rushed service and an inedible piece of fish)
Biergarten (the food is quite heavy and fatty overall)
Akershus (the princesses ruined it, I miss the exciting food)

I agree. You won't always love a restaurant that most people rave about, and you might like a place that many others dislike. Food is a highly subjective thing, so you should pick based on the menus and atmosphere that sound best for you.

Top Five:
  1. Grand Floridian Cafe
  2. Nine Dragons
  3. Kona's
  4. Ohana's
  5. Captain's Grille
Worst:
  1. Olivia's cafe (It was decent, but not the best)
  2. Sci-Fi Drive in Theater. (At HS. Service was slow and the food was pretty bad)

1. Ohanas
2. Kona
3. Akershus
4. Beirgarten
5. Tusker House (breakfast)

The only one we would never return to is Raglan Road for safety reasons!

5 of our favorites are:

1. Boma
2. Cape May Clam Bake
3. Ohana
4. Artist Point
5. Yachtsman Steakhouse

My favorites, in order:

1. Le Cellier
2. 'Ohana
3. The Wave
4. Mama Melrose
5. Teppan Edo

My least favorites, in order:
1. ABC Commissary
I don't see that you specified that the restaurants had to be TS, so I threw this in where it belongs. YUCK
2. It pains me to say Chef Mickey's
for the incredibly rude, inattentive, and slow table service we have received on our past 2 visits. BUT---the chefs who helped my son with his food allergy were outstanding, and the buffet itself was quite good. A very mixed bag.
3. Backlot Express (another CS)
wasn't *bad* just bland as bland can be. I didn't think it possible to make an avocado burger that was completely tasteless, but they managed to do so.
4. Coral Reef
oh, my expectations were so high for this one. Perhaps too high. The portions were tiny, the prices enormous, and the food was no better than the fish camp down the road from us. The atmosphere was spectacular, though.
5. I really can't think of a #5.

My top favorite restaurants are
1. 'Ohana
2. Tutto Italia
3. Le Chefs De France
4. Via Napoli
5. Yak n Yeti

My least favorites are
1. Whispering Canyon
2. Chef Mickeys
3. Tony's
4. 1900 Park Fare
5. Le Cellier

1. Tutto Italia
2. Via Napoli
3. Le Cellier
4. Liberty Tree for lunch
5. Turf Club (a secret gem)

My top 5 are Jiko, Citrico's, bluezoo, Flying Fish and Il Mulino.

My bottom one (and the only place at WDW to which I will never return) is the ESPN Club.
