What would be your top 5 restaurants when travelling with kids to WDW? They don't have to be character meals. Would love your input :)

Our top five with our kids (Ok they are 16 and 12, so they aren't kids anymore, but historically this is what they liked.)

1. Columbia Harbor House - Very good Chicken Fingers
2. Chef Mickeys - Good Buffet and Characters
3. Crystal Palace - Good Buffet and Characters
4. Toy Story Pizza Planet - Only if not in a hurry becuae it is hard to get my son away from the games.
5. LeCellier - A family favorite. Everyone loves the breadsticks.

1. CRT- lunch
2. OHanas- dinner
3. Chef Mickey
4. Crystal Palace- breakfast
5. RAinforest

1) Ohana's (we do breakfast there)
2) Crystal Palace (lunch)
3) 50's Prime Time
4) Coral Reef (not known for a kid friendly place but dd4.5 loved it & we all loved the atmosphere)
5) can't think of a fifth one.....

#1 - Columbia Harbour House
#2 - Ohana Character Breakfast
#3 - Whispering Canyon Cafe
#4 - Any of the McDonalds Fries places
#5 - The Biergarten (Germany in Epcot)

Top 5

1. Crystal Palace, especially for Breakfast
2. Liberty Tree Tavern
3. Sci-fi Dine in Theater (great place!)
4. Ohana's, especially for Dinner
5. Rainforest, I like Downt town restraunt better

Hon. Mention, counter service,
Pizza Planet

I know what I'm about to say could get me kicked off this entire site, but
Chef Mickey's is so played out, everybody gets caught up with the hype of this place, and I'm telling you if you go to all the other places listed on this thread, you won't miss going there,,,,trust me.. :thumbsup2

My dd9's top five:

Picabu at the Dolphin (we all like this relatively unknown little gem especially for breakfast)
Breakfast at Ohana
Dinner at Garden Grill
Flame Tree BBQ lunch
Kona Cafe any meal

I don't know if you'd consider it, but my family (not my own kids) ALWAYS requests Hoop Dee Doo Revue....the kids are 15, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7 & 6!! We have been 3 times and no one gets tired of it....including adults!!

1: Ohanas dinner:banana:
2: Liberty Tree Tavern: for sane character interaction
3: 1900 Park Fare: lots of choices, not in a park
4: Sci Fi: sundaes and shakes and kitch
5: Sunshine seasons (CS Epcot): many good choices and great desserts:woohoo:

Other family member realy like the chaos of Chef Mickey's,...I had our table changed last year 'cause it was too much...and I'm a early childhood teacher by choice!

Every place is kid friendly, so I would look at the menus and treat yourself too! You'll be at Disney, so the kids will be happy.:flower3:

Thanks for all the responses! I am pleasantly surprised to see LeCellier and Coral Reef since I woukd like to try both. Looks like 'Ohana will def. be on the list too. Never heard of Picabu. I will have to check out the menu.
hawkeyesparks...been to CM's. I can understand what you are saying. I think part of the excitement comes from it being at the Contemporary.

My kids are 12 and 5(almost). Our top 5 are:

Chef Mickey (breakfast)
Cape May Cafe (breakfast)
Kona Cafe - we like all 3 meals there
Beaches & Cream
Tie: Boma and Fulton's Crab House for Dinner

I have 5 children, and the 2 restaurants the kids request on every trip, are...

Coral Reef @ Epcot
Si-Fi Dine-In @ the Studios

Also, they always want a character meal, and we usually book one for breakfast and one for dinner, favorites...

Chef Mickey's @ Contemporary, 1900 Park Fare @ GF, Crystal Palace @ MK

There are many others they enjoy, but 2 more favs, are...

Teppan Edo in Japan @ Epcot
Boma @ AKL

1 Crystal Palace (anytime of the day)
2 CRT Lunch
3 Garden Grill Lunch
4 Liberty Tree Dinner
5 Coral Reef Lunch or Dinner

I need to pick a table service meal for ds 11 and myself- Ohana's for dinner and/ or trails end ( or hoop de doo)but he wouldn't eat that menu--- do you think I could get him chicken tenders/nuggets?
he is very picky... VERY. (A sensory/aspergers issue).
and if I go to a place like ohana's where it is family style but I am the only one eating it, will I feel really weird???
thanks Jill
