Got the idea from another thread......list the top 5 places in Disney you shouldnt eat and why.......IF YOU DARE!

Here are mine

1. Sci-Fi Dine in: No restaraunt has worked my gag-reflex as much as this one did.
2. Mama Melrose: Now, I was only there once, but had the worst overall dining experience in all my years of going to Disney. I can elaborate if necessary.
3. CRT Dinner: Way overpriced and limited menu for the $$$.
4. Brown Derby: Food wasn't bad, but it didnt knock my socks off like the prices say it should have.
5. Rainforest Cafe in DTD: Loud, loud, loud, and basic food for the $$$.

Have fun with this.

Need more info on Mama Melrose's. Eating there next week and might need to change quick.

We have been twice and will not go back again...The service was fine (nothing great) and the atmosphere is also okay (again nothing to write home about)...Both times the food was terrible... The tomato sauce is brownish in color, the chicken is like rubber, there are too many spices and/or oil in all of their sauces and dressings... We tried twice and will not go again.

bottom 5 in no particular order

1. Lotus Blossom cafe- so msg laden my dh had to go back to the hotel with a migrane(and he never gets those) The food was eh to me so I am excited to see it getting an overhaul. We get way better chinese at home.

2. Rose and Crown. AWFUL And servers were beyond rude. The last time we went we were seated outside and it was was hot we requested in but alas nothing. then outside we were there for 2 hours!! 2 hours with 4 children!!!!:scared1: ugh and my fish and chips were soggy. all in all a bad bad meal.

3. Biergarten!! BLECH! This is more about the fact that you have to sit with strangers as you dine. Which in theory sounds fun. In reality when you are stuck next to drunk guy and drunker wife not fun at all- particularly when they are both in tank tops and clearly had not bathed that day. The food was fair but seating alone gets this on our bottom 5

4. CHEF MICKEY'S!! HATED IT! Did it once - loved it. Again- Bad very bad- tried a third time and even more awful. The food was cold and the waiters were awful. I had to get my own drinks. Really this is also a never again.

5. hmmm what to chose the first 4 were easy but now another for the bottom. Well I guess it would be that Cafe at the GF- The staff here was amazingly nice but the food was horrible. Really gross. But again great service so not a total bust - but we won't be back just for the service.

In no particular order:

1. Pecos Bills. Not a fan of CS meals anyway but these were the worst burgers we'd ever eaten.
2. Sci Fi. I'm not sure that turkey sandwich and fruit salad were supposed to be food. It certainly was not edible.
3. Rainforest Cafe. Just too chaotic. Besides, can eat at them in several cities.
4. Le Cellier. I know, I know. We pay OOP and it's just not that much more money to have really good food at the signatures.
5. Whispering Canyon. Let's forget that the atmosphere is a bit over the top, I just didn't think the food was worth traveling to WL for it.

We have good food every time we have been there. It is nothing gourmet or outstanding. I would call it a step above Olive Garden. Considering the other choices at the Studios, we find it to be the best (although we do enjoy 50's Prime Time).

Bottom 5:

1. Boatwright's--absolute worse service, disgusting food we have ever had
2. Hollywood & Vine (came real close to being number 1 in our book)--filthy, lousy service, lukewarm, bland food--when there was actually food on the buffet
3. Brown Derby--did not impress us at all.
4. Pizza Planet/Pizzafari--don't know where Disney (or Florida) for that matter learned to make pizza
5. Rainforest Cafe--cute theme, but overpriced, mediocre food

1. LeCellier - overpriced steak that was about on par with Texas Roadhouse or similar chain restaurant. Horrible service, cramped seating, long waits, they were out of creme brulee. It's just a steakhouse, people - you have one up the road from you!

2. Pecos Bills - a few trips ago, we raved about it. They changed. Last trip we stopped for lunch with my ILs. All got burgers. All 4 burgers went in the trash after a few minutes. They were disgusting. And I like McDonalds so I don't have high standards for a burger! We whined about those wasted credits all week =)

3. ABC Commissary - we gave up on it years ago. I always found the tables to be dirty and the food to be yucky. Might give it a shot again sometime.

4. Planet Hollywood - wow this was bad. We had a coupon otherwise we never would have stepped into this tour trap. There was one in Dallas; hardly anyone ate there and it finally closed. This one exists still only because there are enough first time visitors to keep it in business, IMO. The service was the problem here - the food was decent. Plus the tables are very close together and you can't hear yourself think. The atmosphere isn't impressive to me as I've been there, done that back home.

I don't have any more - though we honestly have steered clear from certain places that get notoriously bad reviews just in case.

The Plaza. I guess I should have know not to order a Reuben outside of the NY area.

Rose and Crown. This is the only place I got sick from.

Le Cellier. Not worth the wait

We've only stayed on property the last two times we went, not sure I can think of 5 places but I know of at least 3 I won't eat at again.

1. Whispering Canyon - the food was not very good and the service could have been better. My family did not like the the atmosphere (I thought they would) so of course this is a personal opinion.

2. Raglan Road - slowest service ever and the place was not crowded in the least bit. I also thought the food was very bland.

3. The turkey leg place in the MK, the rest of my family loves the turkey legs I think they're disgusting! So, I just choose to get something else when they decide they want one.

Bottom 5, in no particular order:

  • Chef Mickey's - food is swimming in grease.
  • Whispering Canyon Cafe - Worst service I have ever had on Disney property and the food is not good.
  • Mama Melrose - The service is not that good and neither is the food.
  • Rainforest Cafe - The service is terrible and the food is not very good.
  • Pecos Bill - Dried out burgers, watered down drinks and too many small hands in the condiments bar.

1. Sci-Fi Dine In - Neat atmosphere, but the food tastes like feet, and you can't talk with others in your group in the cars.

1a. Rainforest Cafe at DTD - The worst service we've ever had in any place anywhere in or out of WDW. Again, the theme is pretty neat, but not at all worth the hassle.

All the other places we've ever eaten in have been OK or better. Those two places were exceptionally horrible, though.

In no particular order:
1. Capn Jacks
2. Capn Jacks
3. Capn Jacks
4. Capn Jacks
5. Capn Jacks

My bottom 5 TSs are:

Hollywood & Vine
Cape May Clambake
Planet Hollywood
Liberty Tree Tavern
Chef Mickey's (just the last time we were there ... formerly a fave but I don't know if they downscaled just for free dining or what but in 9/07 there were very limited options and what they had wasn't good with the exception of the mashed potatoes)

We don't eat much CS but I agree that Pecos Bill stinks. My oldest was studying Pecos Bill in school and was fixated on eating there - we grabbed a veggie burger, burger and chicken wrap while waiting for the parade. Oh my, horrible. We threw it all away. Oh, and Pizza Planet is pretty bad too.

In no particular order:
1. Capn Jacks
2. Capn Jacks
3. Capn Jacks
4. Capn Jacks
5. Capn Jacks

I had the same thought only different restaurant:
1. San Angel Inn
2. San Angel Inn
3. San Angel Inn
4. San Angel Inn
5. San Angel Inn

In no particular order ...

1. Hollywood Studio's ABC Commissary
2. Animal Kingdom Pizza"barfi"
3. Gackin' Yeti Counter Service
4. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
5. Bongo's Cuban Cafe

There are two that I really didn't care for, Chefs De France and Coral Reef.

Mid week of last year during September we went to Chefs de France and the restaurant was very far behind in seating people for reservations. The host that night was wonderful and really dealt well with the angry/annoyed people having to wait. The food though was less then stellar, it just didn't impress me as French food should.

At the beggining of the same week of Chefs De France we went to Coral Reef and like Chefs de France they were behind in seatings. This time though pretty much everyone was miserable. The food was average, if not below average, except the dessert which was delicous. The view is nice, but it gets boring after awhile. There are very limited seating for parties less then 4, and they're all right up at the glass, so the whole rest of the restaurant is basically looking down at you.

On the flip side though, we really enjoyed Rose and Crown. It reminds me a lot of a pub in England. Crowded, pub food, drinks, etc. Out waitress was WONDERFUL and the food was great. We had Bangers and Mash which was excellent and Fish and Chips. Both excellent. As we are going back to Disney this year we made reservations for Rose and Crown again!

Hmm...this is a hard one, because we haven't really had any horrendous TS experiences. So, I only have two that I would strongly suggest going elsewhere:

1. DAK/Rainforest Cafe: Honestly, it's NO different than any other RFC in the country!! I'd recommend choosing a place that is unique to WDW, instead of one you can find in every other mall near your home! My other beef with it is I find it extremely unpleasant inside (really dark & loud) and no matter which location I've tried, the service has always been bad.

2. EP/France/Boulangerie Patisserie: No flames please! The sandwiches are NOT fresh and poor quality. The frozen cappucino was so bad I couldn't even drink it. Maybe you could have better luck with the desserts, but there are MUCH better lunch options in the WS than this place. I also found the CM to be rather unfriendly the day we were there.

I noticed that most of the restaurants in the bottom five in here are the same ones that are in the top five in another thread.:rotfl2:
