Top 5 Places you SHOULDNT eat

Add another tally mark to:

50's Prime Time Cafe - saw waitress twice, no interaction, bland food

Hollywood & Vine - dirty, didn't like the food

Sci-Fi Cafe - tried it a few times (don't know why) worse each time, terrible, slow service, nasty food, last time we were stuck there for over 2 1/2 hours.

San Angel Inn - cramped, slow service, better food at Taco Bell

Tony's Town Square - slow, waiter nonexistent, nothing to write home about.

Ask, and you shall receive. And, no, I don't do anything at my job, why do you ask? :rotfl:

Of course, this is assuming no one posted in both threads, but I'm sure they did. :)

One thing to remember, these are all people's opinions and everyone is surely entitled to them. I say try some of these places for yourself. Many of the places listed in this thread I have eaten at and have had wonderful experiences. So just a reminder if something sounds good to you try it, different people like different things. :)

1. Mama Melrose: Subpar food and bad, bad, bad service. The servers actually acted like it was a chore to wait on us, and a drink was spilled on our table and the wait staff did not bring a towel. This was an entire glass of drink, it was running off of the tables.

2: Electric Umbrella. The hamburgers were cold and actually rubbery. They were hard to chew. The fries tasted like they had been cooked in a microwave.

Best that we can figure out, these are the only ones that we would never go back to!

I totally agree. That's kinda why I wanted to make a little tally. I mean, 2-3 bad reviews in a thread could just be their bad luck. 20 or so and you know there MIGHT be a problem! :confused3 Still, though, ya gotta try it for yourself.

In no particular order:
1. Capn Jacks
2. Capn Jacks
3. Capn Jacks
4. Capn Jacks
5. Capn Jacks
I have the same pattern here
1 Hollywood and Vine
2 Hollywood and Vine
3 Hollywood and Vine
4 Hollywood and Vine
5 Hollywood and Vine

1. Coral Reef
2. Rainforest Cafe
3. Planet Hollywood
4. Nine Dragons
5. Flying Fish
5. Sci Fi

That's my top five. Number five was a tie. I guess they're equally bad. I couldn't decide, although to be honest, I will go to Sci Fi, but not to eat. They have really good milkshakes for grown ups. The others I've been to on more than one occasion. Wasn't blown away by any of them. And, anyone who's read some of my posts knows that Coral Reef is my all time least favorite.

There are several restaurants in this post that I thought were just okay and will probably give a second try. The following are restaurants that I will NEVER frequent again:
1: Captain Jacks- We were served spoiled shrimp(shrimp cocktail)!
2: Sci-Fi- all three of us got really bad stomach aches!
3: Coral Reef: Tried this three times, because there are so many good reviews. We never liked it. I guess because we live next to the ocean and we are surrounded by AMAZING FRESH seafood restaurants that CR just didn't live up to our standards.
4: Yak and Yeti: We also have some very amazing upscale asian restaurants in town to compare to. Yak and Yeti was just severly oily cheap food!
5: Rainforest Cafe: I have to say the food was good and the service was average. However the prices are way out of control. I left there feeling ripped off and having a sick feeling in my tummy(not from food) from spending sooooooo much money on not much of anything!
I know we are only suppose to put 5 down, but I have 6!
6: Pecos Bills: Our opinion is the same as all the other post here. Terrible food, downright nasty! We threw our burgers in the trash after two bites!

To leave on a positive note: One of our FAVORITES remains Crystal Palace! We've always recieved good service and good food. We leave there happy everytime!:goodvibes

*50's Prime Time => food doesnt even LOOK good, let alone taste good.

*Sci-Fi => it's dark in there for a reason ;)

*Casey's in MK => new multi grain buns were dry and awful, not good!

*1900 Park Fare => sorry folks but this buffet was my least favorite

*Spirit of Aloha is my #1 worst meal for the 2 credits it cost me...yuck yuck yuck

I have to say that I enjoy Rainforest Cafe almost every time I go. We also have one in Burlington, MA that does NOT compare in atmosphere to Orlando. Kids love it there, so maybe adult singles may want to stear clear as the noise level is high... I don't mind the noise. My one bad experience there was being seated near the entrance where all people waiting on the elephant trail to be seated stood there and gave you the feeling of being watched. Good thing the mai tai's helps you overlook this. lol

I'm not sure what everyone is ordering that costs so much, but a $15-$20 entree doesn't seem too out of control considering the area in which you are dining. I love the Pastalaya personally. Spicy and very filling.

Everyone has their own tastes & opinions so don't let 10-15 people on a message board scare you away from a particular restaurant.

1. Sci- Fi
2. Sci- Fi
3. Sci- Fi
4. Sci- Fi
5. ABC Comissary

6 of us went to Sci-Fi in January for lunch and all of our meals were horrible. I had a burger and ordered it med.well.... as i was eating it (in the dark I might add) I kept thinking that the texture of it seemed weird... after I noticed dripping blood I discovered it was completely raw. the waitstaff apologized and said it should have never been served like that. I ended up switching to pizza which was disgusting and didn't eat it.

When we go the bill I was a little surprised to see they had still charged me for the burger.. what I should have done was asked for it to be removed and charge me for the pizza which was less $, but it was our 1st day and didn't want to start off on a bad foot.

Hmmm. None of the restaurants I've tried at WDW were ones I would *never* eat at again.

But of those I haven't tried, there are some I would never try: the ones I can get at home. So McDonald's and Rainforest Cafe and the like are off my list forever.

But as for the rest, even our worst experience (at Yacht Club) won't keep us from trying again in a year or three.

To leave on a positive note: One of our FAVORITES remains Crystal Palace! We've always recieved good service and good food. We leave there happy everytime!:goodvibes[/QUOTE]

Would this be for breakfast or dinner...we love breakfast, and thought about trying dinner, but it looks like some weird food combos? I am debating on cancelling this...thoughts?

Victoria & Albert's (1).
:)

Wow thanks for combining (and doing it so quickly!! :thumbsup2 )

Seriously - V&As? I mean, the only complaint I can see is cost/experience ratio - I cannot believe anything bad came out of that kitchen! However, the thread did say something about "places you wouldn't eat at again", and maybe the $$ is reason enough.

It is all opinion based anyway (except San Angel Inn -the food there is universally bad!! :lmao: )

2) 50's Prime Time Cafe ill explain this one the food sucked, our waitress did not getinto the games even if she did I dont think the concept was that thrill anyways liked the tv with old shows though! The food was pretty standard nothing special. And the smores dissapointed me :(

Oh no there goes Prime Time too! I guess we'll have to starve at Hollywood Studios AND Animal Kingdom!! :rotfl:

Wow... I didn't think this one would make the list. Sorry to hear you had a bad meal.

But ..is it fair to compare to a 2 credit restaurant?

Maybe, you could think of it as a 1 credit diner, and 1 credit for the show?

We must have been hungry, because we thought the all-you-can-eat chicken & ribs was good eating :smickey: ...after a full day walking the parks. I enjoyed the show also, it was neat to see all the different dance styles

This is not easy. We've had really good luck at most places, we try to do our research and pick places that are well regarded and fit with our own tastes. But sometimes the great reviews don't work for us, and sometimes the bad reviews get confirmed.

Standard disclaimers apply.

So here they are, no particular order.

1. The CBR food court. I guess if I was staying at CBR I'd end up there again, but would stick to the pancakes or chicken strips. They managed to screw up even the sandwiches.

2. 50's prime time. Food is marginal, and I don't like getting hassled while I eat. I can see why people think it is fun, it just doesn't work for me.

3. Mama Melrose's. It was just okay. Not worth the financial and time expense. I wouldn't raise a big stink if my group was super stoked to eat there, but I'll avoid it in the future.

4. Liberty Inn (Epcot US Pavilion). Not because it is bad, but because there is so much more interesting options. And if I was stuck at the US pavilion and needed to eat, I'd grab a turkey leg from the cart outside.

5. Ohana (taking cover). It's not bad. The poly is beautiful. The entertainment there is good. And the food is actually quite good, I just don't like the style. I find that I just eat and eat and all that meat is just too much. I feel the same about brazilian bbq places. Great food but it just doesn't work for me.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe - talk about feeling unwelcome from the time you enter. The staff needs trained on hospitality. Service is poor, food can vary. It isn't worth the hassle anymore.

Electric Umbrella - when the food is fresh it is fine, but that is a rare occasion.

Other than that, after 15+ trips to WDW, I really don't have any other compalints.

I don't mean to hijack this - but to anyone considering changing their ADR over some of the opinions listed on this thread or anywhere on the DIS isn't a good idea. Some people have listed restaurants on here that people have absolutely loved. You can only take things with a grain of salt. I'm sure there will always be a bad experience for someone but it doesn't mean the same will be for you. :flower3:
