Tooth Fairy

We do 1.oo My parents growing up did 2.00 which I was going to do but all her friends got 1.00 so she told me she couldnt wait till she got her 1.00 so I went ahead with that. So thank goodness her friends have reasonable parents LOL.
A friend of mine does 20.00 and her kids yank at the first sign of looseness. I take mine to the dollar store afterwards and she gets sooo excited to spend her dollas

I never got anything when I was little because when my older sister lost her first tooth and I heard about the tooth fairy I FREAKED OUT! I didn't want a fairy flying around in our room while we were alseep! My mom finally had to tell me the truth! I had to promise not to tell my sister...that lasted all of about 5 minutes before I told!:guilty:

We do the gold dollar coins, so they were like gold and something different. The hard part is remembering to have a supply from the bank.

The tooth fairy here leaves a gold dollar also. Something my DD hadn't seen before the tooth fairy started leaving them. The tooth fairy also leaves a small toy with the gold dollar. This week she came twice. The first toy was a Zhu-Zhu baby and the second toy was a small stuffed dog.

At our house, if you lose your tooth in the evening or even late afternoon, this statement is usually heard: "it's probably too late for the tooth fairy to get you on their schedule for tonight and you'll have to wait until tomorrow". :rotfl2:

I lost my DD's tooth down the sink drain this week. She was very upset that she would be by-passed! I had to sit down at the hysterics of my DD and write an "I am sorry for dropping the tooth down the sink" letter to the tooth fairy:rolleyes:

The Tooth Fairy leaves a dollar at my house, but sometimes she forgets until time to wake up in the morning. oopsie! She's getting old....

DD gets $1 plus a small toy....I had bought some Club Penguin plushies at Target after Easter for 1/2 price......or some other clearance toy.

Usually $20...but we don't do allowance around here and my son is a slow tooth loser! He has a loose eye tooth and he is 11!

Our tooth fairy leave $1.08 (sales tax here is 8.25%) so DD can go get something at the dollar spot at Target or Michael's and mom & dad aren't out the sales tax! :lmao:

We do $5.50 here. I asked around to the other "tooth fairies" in my area and found out that $1 - $5 was the going rate. Ok, she's an only child (and hopefully will remain that way) so we went with $5. Another "fairy" told me that change is reeeeeealy important to them. For some reason they like the coins, it makes them "feel" rich, like they have more..... I'm guessing it has to do with the sound. bills are silent but change makes noise!!!! Well, that did it for me. Each lost tooth gets $5.50. :rotfl:

I gave my DD 20.00 for her first tooth she lost...only because she lost it at Disney World. After that it may be only a couple of dollars since her dentist said she will probably lose like 3 more next time around the same time. She's got a mouth full loose (she got her teeth way early!!).

With the $2 and $1 coins here in Canada, even the coins can add up. My twin 6 year olds lost 3 teeth combined this week, and I was out about $10.

Our going rate is around $2 to $3, but it really all depends on what change I have. The kids are experts at spending my change at "the treat store".

For his first tooth, he got a little mini-Lego set from Five Below. For his fifth tooth he got a "Kooky Pen". Otherwise, $1 and a nice note signed "T.F." with the date.

$5 for the first tooth and any that had to be pulled at the dentist. $2 for all other teeth. My daughter is funny, she writes the tooth fairy notes with each tooth to leave the tooth LOL, she told me that the tooth fairy is making a house out of teeth and she doesn't want hers used :lmao:

We've always done $1 here. I thought about doing the first tooth as more but I was afraid they would expect that much everytime so I just do $1 everytime.

Dh got a few of the gold dollars last year right before one of my twins had his first wiggly tooth, so my sons got a gold dollar and a regular one for the first tooth and one dollar for the rest of them. Thankfully that is the going rate around here, if the tooth comes out as a surprise there are times it's hard to scrounge that up at night! :rotfl2:

The tooth fairy does not bring money for wisdom teeth that cost me $600 a set to pull out. My twins did ask why their 14 yo sister didn't get anything when she had her pulled recently! ;)

Our tooth fairy wasn't expecting to come by our house that night. That tooth wasn't ready to come out, but DD's bus driver pulled it anyway. (That was NOVEMBER, and she still hasn't had a new tooth even attempt to grow in yet. In case you're wondering, the dentist said if it wasn't there by the next appointment (should be July or August), they'd do x-rays to figure out what's up.)

Anyhow...since the tooth fairy wasn't expecting the bus driver to pull the tooth..all she had was a $20. And none of us had any change. :confused3

My mother and I have explained to DD that it was a one-time occurence...very special losing her first tooth and all that. Of course, by the time the next one is loose, she'll probably have forgotten how much she got. (But now...I guarantee the tooth fairy ALWAYS has something smaller than a $20 on hand!)

Tooth fairy gave me 4 quarters glued to a 3X5 card covered with lots of glitter for each tooth. I still have them all.

I used to be a teller at a bank. A customer gave me this idea.

Eisenhower $1 coins. Every so often a customer would bring some in. I slowly bought them until I had $40. I figured that was enough for two kids... If I had more I would have to figure it out.

DS & DD get $1 per tooth and then DH gives them a paper $1 to spend so they can save their Eisenhower. Both have saved all of their coins... I guess it helps that their grandfather is a coin collector.

Last Fall, DS had two permanent teeth pulled. The TF left two crisp $5s. DS was impressed.

BTW, I received a dime for my teeth. I remember stating I thought I should get a quarter for a front tooth but the TF didn't hear me.
