So my wife goes in to cover up our 7yo son at 10:00 to find him still barely awake. His bed time is 7:30 and he is usually asleep by 8:00. When asked why he was still awake, he replied that he was waiting for the Tooth Fairy and he showed her his freshly pulled tooth. We knew he had a loose tooth, but expected him to tell us when he pulled it, just like the first one. I recon he would have been extremely disappointed had the Tooth Fairy not shown up. I guess we're gonna have to let him know that the Tooth Fairy doesn't come until his parents call her.
So I had to play Tooth Fairy since my wife was on her way to bed when she first checked on him. Luckily, he was zonked out at 11:00. I felt all under and around his pillow, and couldn't find the tooth. Should I have left the money anyway? We're just going to have to explain that the Tooth Fairy couldn't find the tooth, but since she knew he lost it, she gave him money anyway. pirate:

We had a similar situation the other night. DD lost a tooth and then really lost it! We told her to draw a picture and the tooth fairy would understand. This worked fine. Then the next day, she found the tooth. She decided to leave it for the tooth fairy that night. I told her I don't think you get paid twice, so I replaced the tooth with her origianl drawing. She bought it, but man the pressure on us parents to know the tooth fairy rules is tough! :teeth:

My DD found our lab puppy's tooth on the floor night before last. She brings a pillow out of her room and lays it on the floor beside the dog's crate. I asked her what she was doing, and she told me that she was putting the tooth under the pillow for the tooth fairy. I tried to explain that the tooth fairy couldn't use puppy teeth. She then explained to me that dogs have their own tooth fairy. DH was in the corner about to crack up laughing. So, I sent the smart aleck to the store to buy a bone!

It was quite cute the next morning though. She was so excited when she found the bone under the pillow.

Oh, that's AWESOME!!! :) Thanks for the smile at this early hour!

That reminds me of my now 11 year old dd (who, by the way, whether she believes or not, still puts her teeth under the pillow) who use to write letters, well short notes, to the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny and Santa. I just happened to find out one evening when I was tucking her in that there was a note under her pillow asking questions and most definitely asking for a responses LOL
That lasted for a few weeks and then ended but it was a heck of a time to keep up with LOL

The tooth fairy has forgotten each of my kids once. She always pays double the next night.

The tooth fairy visited us night before last. Next morning DGD wanted to know why the tooth fairy took the tooth and only left a dollar. I explained that was the the tooth fairy's job and she wanted to know why and I was well if she didn't take them there would be teeth everywhere. I then asked her how much the tooth fairy should have left and she informed me $20. I almost fell out, she is only 6. I told her mom she was just like her, likes the money.

That is SO funny! How cute and smart of her.

My sister was always so afraid my brother would steal the teeth from under her pillow (?), that she put them in an envelope and hung them on the refrigerator.

Then, my brother thought this was just how it was done, so he hung his up too!

The Tooth Fairy lucked out with them!

Teeth go in a ziplock baggie & placed next to the alarm clock in the child's room; after all, we wouldn't want Daddy...er, the Tooth Fairy....to wake them up, would we? :rotfl:

The TF has forgotten a couple times. My cover story the first time was that Daddy locks up the house too tight, so she couldn't get in. Every time after that, the kids are sure to tell him to at least leave a window open! :rotfl2:

DS 15 now.. but the 1st tooth he lost, the Tooth Fairy :wizard: left him $5.00 then $1.00 for all other teeth and $5.00 for the very last tooth. :teeth: DS had a small pillow in the shape of a Tooth with a pocket on the front.. So much easier then looking under a pillow.

When DD's has her first loose tooth, we tried to get her to let us pull it b/c it was sooo loose, but she wouldn't. Well, she ended up loosing it while eating dinner at a restaurant and she had to draw a picture and put a note under her pillow so the TF would know what happened!

We have a toothfairy 'bear' that has a little pocket in the front that the tooth goes in. The bear is even dressed like the tooth fairy. But since DD didn't want the tooth fairy to wake her up when she came, she wanted to leave it on the ledge next to the stairs. Made it soooo much easier for the tooth fairy!
