Toontown opening

Hi,

We are headed to down to the world in about a month and I am switching into the next gear in terms of planning...

So, my question has to do with the 10am opening of toontown. Meeting the fairies is a TOP priority for us (2 girls 4 & 6). I know that if you line up for RD at the main toontown entrance around 9:30ish you should be in pretty good shape getting in to Pixie Hollow.

In the past you could walk the side path from Space Mountain and then enter toontown from the back (and sometimes even walk in with the princsses etc). I read somewhere that they are not doing this anymore. Can anyone give more info on this please.

Can you wait at the back/side entrance to to toontown and be let in at the 9:45 time to go the tent or do they not open this entrance until 10?

Wait at the front entrance to Toontown (just beyond Fantasyland) near where the maps below indicate the "Rope Drop Area."

Does that mean that they no longer do a separate "rope drop" at the end of the tomorrow land path at 9:45?

This past October my sister and I did this because the fairies were top on my list to see. We got to toontown around 9:30ish give or take and just hung out by the rope right in front, because as more people started to show up they tried to push up towards the rope. Cast members came out and they do an opening ceremony and pick children and let my sister and I throw pixie dust onto the crowd, the cast members were very good and clearly stated that everyone had to stay behind them as they escorted the crowd into toontown and if people ran ahead they would be asked to go to the back of the line. Just make sure you keep up with the cast members and if you know you want to see the fairies once you see the entrance for the tent make a speed walk into it, we were the first in line for the fairies and when we got out the line said a 45 minute wait.
