Too old for Disney ???

I'm so glad that my daughters (20 and 22) inherited my Love of Disney gene. We have come to simply ignore the non-Dis Believers and enjoy our time to the fullest. These boards are such a comfort; a family of choice that shares the same gene...

My DD is 15 now and she has enjoyed it every year. If we ever talked about not going and doing something different she would get upset. She even ask that when she is married with kids we are still going to go, (or maybe she just wants us to pay for their trip?LOL). Anyway last year she had a friend, a boy, that went with his parents, older brother and wife. When he came over to the house she kept asking him if he did certain ride. Well sure enough he had only done the big rides, no small world no pooh no carousel. Well DD jumped all over him and said next time i will write out your itenerary, then she looked at me and said can he go with us, we were leaving in less than a week and were already taking a friend of hers. Well we ended up taking all three and they had the BEST time. We ate at CP and when they did the parade they just got up and joined in no 'hey are we too old'. They even wanted there pictures taken with the characters.

With the above said here is my thoughts. Most kids when given a chance to still be a kid will be a kid. I believe some parents, my sister included, talk about how silly it is so the kids are too ashamed to be a kid. If your kids are excited about going then they are still not to old and hopefully they will never be too old for Disney. Are kids have to grow up too fast already so lets let them have a place where they can still be a kid. I know when I go to DW I still get excited when I see Pluto, my all time favorite! :banana:

I went to WDW for the first time at 16 with a band trip where my mom was a chaperone. We both fell in love with Disney so much :love:

that we planned a trip for the following spring with the rest of the family. I've been a huge Disney fan ever since (and I'm now 36)! So, don't worry about what others "think" they know...they obviously don't know much about how much is there for all ages!

I've only loved it as a teen and adult. Now DH and I are taking our little ones, and I can't wait to see it through my children's eyes!

I have to admit, when my brother and I were 17 and 19 and went to Daytona Beach for 2 weeks with our parents, we did not want to take a side trip to WDW with my Mom, although she begged. But just a temporary lapse in judgement. Now, we are all DVC members, AP holders, etc. (at 35 and 37). My brother honeymooned there last year for 16 nights (and even invited me, my Mom and my 4 yr old twins for a few nights; we went!!) One of our best trips is when my brother and I went with our parents at the age of 25 and 27; all adults and we had a blast!! My brother and his wife go 2-3 X per year and they don't even have any kids. You are never too old!

My goodness, i hate it when i get the response "aren't you too old for Disney?".... Drives me up a wall.

Last year i was a sophomore in college, and i told one of my professors that i was going to be missing a couple classes because i was going on a cruise with my family... she was like 'oh ok what cruise" and i said with such enthusiasm "DISNEY!"... and she gave me the dirtiest look and replied "um, aren't you too old for a disney vacation", and i replied with "yeah, um NO!!!!!".... the nerve of some people....

well I'm going to WDW in October this year but i'm taking all hospitality Management classes, so i'm hoping my professors will be a little more enthusiastic that i'm getting 'travel experience!'.

too old? NO!! Our last family trip I was 22 my bro 18 and sis 8 along with my parents. We loooove going to WDW! We went in Oct. and did both Halloween at MK and the OTHER park. Well as older "kids" my brother and I liked MK way better! I dont think my bro and I have ever grown up really so we love going. Now that I'm married my DH and i are going in Sept for a late honeymoon! He hasn't been in 20 YEARS!!! He is such a kid, we are gonna have soooo much fun! I hope this upcoming trip will be the first of many... we are already talking about renewing our vows at WDW and we havent been married a year! :bride:

My son is graduating from eight grade and getting confirmed next year. I secrectly ( well I don't know if I can keep that a secret to long ) want to plan a trip for him as a present so I keep asking him where he wants to go and all he can say is he wants to go back to Disney World. He's going to be 14. I'm 38 and I still love Disney. You are never to old!! :surfweb:
