Too old for autographs????

I've been wanting to collect autographs for a while, but figured I was too old. On my birthday trip last October I gave in and started collecting. I turned 53 during that trip.

I have one autograph book (so far) for WDW, and another book for DLR.

Do I have any regrets? Yes, I should have started long ago. What I enjoy most is talking with the characters. I don't just hand them the book, I always try and say something to them.

I am probably the worst offender here! I am in my mid 30's and my #1 priority is meeting characters and getting autographs! I love them so much that I made a 150 page website dedicated to them! :teeth: :teeth:

I never felt odd about it! Go for it!! :)

I'm 36 and I collect baseball card autographs.

I don't see anything wrong with a 14 yr. old collecting autographs of characters.

:earsboy: :earsboy:

Your never too old when you at the "magic" Myself (36) and my (86) year old aunt got a bunch during our trip in Dec. Just make sure she has a "fatter" pen it's easier for some of the characters to sign with. We even do character meals and take lots of pictures and autographs then. Let her have fun!!!!!!!!!

I agree! You're never too old to get character autographs/pictures! That's one of my favorite things to do, and I'm 20! :teeth: Tell her to go for it.

While character greets and autographs were never "my thing", even as a child at DL...I have traveled with adults that just love getting photos and autographs...to each their own...everyone finds magic in different places. :)

Let her get the autographs! It's a fun activity for kids of all ages!

Okay this is our first trip so give me a DUH moment! Autographs ?? OF the characters? My 14 yr. old would love this. Now I am gonna have to scoot over to the craft boards and see if any scrappers make their own books.

There are some great ideas on the Creative DISigns board.

I'm 37 and I'm not too old!!! I can get in line with the best of them!!!! But, I don't push kiddos out of the way. If a character is getting ready to go in--even for a few minutes, I'll let a little one in front of me. DS is 10 and he still likes autographs too. We only use one book though--don't want to take up too much precious time!!

I would rather spend my time doing something else. After all, you know it is really Joe Schwartz in a Mickey Mouse costume signing "Mickey", don't you?

I see why kids would be interested, but not adults. But as they say...you pay, you play...as you like. To each his/her own.

Gasp! Mickey is real!

Are you sure? If it looks like a mouse, walks like a mouse and acts like a mouse.

I will be a 39 year old disney child and I plan to get autographs and pictures this trip. The last two trips I was doing it for DD (4) and now it's my turn too. I was loving it as much as she was and she had a blast watching mommy get her picture a few times. "Mommy's turn!" became her favorite saying. I'd say let her enjoy it and besides they grow up so fast.

I know that, as I worked in the MK for 8 months. But I didn't (and still don't) care. I may have seen something strange in the tunnels. But as soon as I was in the park, the character was real to me. And they still are, and always will be. I love the characters! I will always be getting pictures/autographs with them.

There are TONS of teens and adults getting autographs without small children. Especially teen girls. Besides, she's just barely a teen! Too old for autographs? That's like saying too old for Disney World..........them's fightin' words!

Love you website. It is awasome.

Please do not discourage her. Disney is for the young and the young at heart. This was my DH first trip to the World, and I insisted that he buy an autograph book. Of course he made me get the autographs, but he had a ball. We both had so much fun and love to look back at our pictures and autographs together. My DH really got to experience the "Disney magic." I saw it happening everytime he stood by a character, got a hug from a character, or shook hands with a character. I really saw the magic happen when he grabbed the autograph book out of my hands and asked Minnie to sign his book. Your daughter is definately NOT to old to get autographs.

My boyfriend is 24 and on one trip he waited in line and got the autographs of ALL the Power Rangers TWICE :rotfl2:

I like getting their autographs, too. On our last trip I asked the Queen of Hearts for hers and she got mad and stormed off!! It was because I didn't say "please" :rotfl:
