Hey guys,

I'd really like your opinion on this. DF and I are honeymooning in Orlando the first two weeks of December this year.

We would like to arrive on a Monday and stay at the AKL until the Thursday when we will sail away on the Wonder for 3 days, finally coming back to spend our second week at POR. Does this sound like too much in 2 weeks? Would you simply spend 2 weeks at Disney?

Many thanks,
Kxx

Congratulations, Kirsteen. It doesn't sound like too much to me. It makes sense to have a few days at WDW before the cruise to get over your jetlag. I suppose it depends on what you want to do at WDW. Have you been before?

Now that I've posted, I see from your signature that you have been before. I think a DCL cruise would be fab as part of a honeymoon. Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay is one of my favourite places on Earth.

Congrats on your honeymoon:goodvibes
I am getting married at WDW and we are spending 3 weeks in Florida but taking out 3 days for a cruise on the Wonder also. We have never been to WDW before which is why we decided on 3 weeks. However as you have been before I would think you already know the places you want to visit so 1.4 days in Orlando should be enough. I've never cruised before so I definately didn't want to miss out on that chance and as the previous poster said it would be a wonderful addition to your honeymoon.
Your holiday is alot like ours, we too are spending part of our vacation at AKL also!

In December we did 10 nights at the POR, then 4 nights on the Wonder and then went back to POR for 4 nights. The other way around from yourself but it still works and definitely isn't too much. The cruise is wonderfully relaxing and a nice break it would be a wonderful way to spend part of your honeymoon.

Doesn't sound like too much to me either!! We did something very similar for our wedding/honeymoon in October 2005. We stayed at Sheraton Studio City on International Drive for 11 nights, then Yacht Club for 4 nights (which included our wedding at the Swan) then to AKL for 2 nights, then 4 day DCL, then back to AKL for 5 nights. We are used to at least 2 hotel changes during our trips to WDW, so a couple more didn't really bother us!

Don't forget there is so much to do in WDW and surrounding area that you won't be short of things to do!!!

After having resisted going on DCL for a few years, we finally took the plunge as part of our honeymoon and I can safely say it was one of the best times we have ever had. We had a great day at Castaway Cay! The food on board was excellent - brunch at Palo was one of our best meals ever. We also used the spa facilities. We would definately go on DCL again in the future.

Thanks guys, I was just having a wibble wobble over nothing :rolleyes1

Congratulations on your wedding at WDW! :goodvibes

Congratulations on your wedding!:thumbsup2 We are doing the same thing as you this year, staying at WDW for 3 nights then a 4 night cruise on the Wonder then back for another 7 nights! I think the cruise is a break from the parks given you time to recharge before you go back again!:)

Congratulations, Kirsteen! You will have a magical time and 2 weeks will be fine. In May 2005 DD and I had a 10 night holiday to WDW of which 3 nights were on the Wonder and we managed fine. :thumbsup2 Definitely don't miss the opportunity to cruise - it's fabulous. pixiedust:

Have you considered 1 night pre-cruise, 7 night cruise, then 7 nights WDW? Less packing and unpacking and a lot more time to relax into and enjoy the cruise, then 7 days to hit WDW and wind down (if both can be done at the same time!) afterwards...?

Boo

Thanks guys, that is great to hear someone else is doing the same thing too. #

Boo, I've only jusy managed to talk OH into a 3 night cruise - he thinks it's going to be 'just like that time we went from Dover to Calias'! :rolleyes1

NOTHING like it... you will have the BEST time and he will forget he is on a boat... Just wait until your 3 days is up - you will have to prise his fingers from the railings, when it is time to disembark - and he will be yelling "why didn't you make me book a 7 day cruise!!!" ;)

My first cruise was a 7 night cruise on the Disney Magic - we had a great time and have done quite a few since (on other cruise lines).

Maybe next time then...

You will have a GREAT honeymoon :)

Sounds supertastic to me!:cool1: :cheer2: :yay:

When you arrive back in WDW following your cruise make sure you go to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party - it's great (bbok tickets before you go as it's cheaper).

Congratulations! Your itinerary sounds perfect, doesn't sound like too much at all. Sounds brilliant, you will love AKL, we were really overwhelmed with how beautiful it is!

:rotfl2: This is exactly what will happen! Kx

Don't worry Kirsteen, my DF is exactly the same, he thinks the Cruise will be boring and can't see why I'm so hyper about it :hyper: I think he'll love it! Sometimes it just takes us girls to decide what is best for them eh?
I am the one who decided to swap hotels, but now he is beginning to see the advantages of doing this. I'm sure you and your new hubby will have a brilliant time.

We got married on the 5th December 2006 and did the 3 night wonder cruise as part of our honeymoon too! It was fabulous!!
