TOO Much food! Our Jan.09 Deluxe Dining Adventure TONS of pics! Completed 3/4

Raglan Road-dinner

Since we loved lunch at Raglan Road so much we decided to do it again for dinner. I love the atmosphere at dinner! It was very loud but very fun, and the Irish step dancer was great. For my drink I once again got a Jaygail Sangria, and DH got a coke.

For our appetizers, we both got the Chicken Lickin. 3 chicken skewers on grilled zucchini with a Dalkey yoghurt peppercorn sauce. This was so juicy and flavorful. So good.

For his entree, DH got Meatballs a la Liffey Luv, Guinness meatballs with penne pasta and seasoned roma tomatoes. He said it was just ok, he wasn't crazy about the sauce.

I got the Jus Chicken, pan seared breast of chicken, with roasted baby vegetables and mash. Served with mushroom spinach cream sauce and port wine jus. It was very good, though I liked the Chicken Lickin better. Sorry for the bad photo. The flash messed it up.

For dessert DH got the Ger's Bread & Butter pudding but I didn't take a pic of this again. He loved it just as much as before.

I believe what I got was sticky toffee pudding. I can't find it on any online menus. It was fabulous! Even better than the bread & butter pudding. This is my new favorite dessert at WDW. Yum!

I love this place. My favorite restaurant in DTD.

Up next 1900 Park Faire breakfast.

Glad you enjoyed Raglan Road, we really like it when we went too. I was going to skip it next trip, but if they have sticky toffee pudding, I just may need to go back!

I just wanted to thank you so much for all the work in posting your dining report. I read every one and enjoyed them immensely. :lovestruc

I LOVE reading your dining report! Now I'm really thinking about doing one when I go!! Keep the reviews coming!

Thanks for the PTC and Raglan Road reviews. I will be trying PTC next trip and hoping for a good server. It seems like a hit or miss these days.

I just got caught up, great reviews, lots of good picks and pics too. :teeth:

Lookin' forward to 1900 Park Faire. :woohoo:

Thanks everyone.

Just an update, DH made me cream cheese mashed potatoes OMG yummy! They were just as good as LeCellier's, and they are easy to make.

But onto the next review...

Service here was very slow. We were showed to our seats and Alice was right there.

We sat and waited for our server to take our drink orders for about ten minutes but we were starving so we just headed up to the buffet. And I was very excited about trying the strawberry soup.

My plate consisted of bread pudding, breakfast pizza, scrambled eggs, lobster eggs benedict and a bowl of strawberry soup. The strawberry soup is awesome! The breakfast pizza, eggs and bread pudding were all very delicous as well. The lobster eggs benedict were ok, I really didn't taste or see any lobster.

DH's first plate had strawberry soup, french toast, breakfast pizza, and a chocolate croissant. He liked everything. I believe he went up for another few plates after buy I didn't take a picture as he got pretty much the same thing.

The characters at this restaurant came around pretty quickly, unlike at Akershus.

The mad hatter was almost to our table as we were finishing up but we were in a rush to get to the Magic Kingdom so we didn't wait for him.

This breakfast was pretty good for a buffet though I think that I prefer Crystal Palace to this one.

good to know that my hubby and I arent the only people that go to character meals and get pics without kids! :lmao: BTW what was up with the Mary Poppins? she looks evil or something! :rotfl:

I wasn't gonna say it, but since you already did -- I have never seen a Mary quite like that before!

The food looked really good though!

Haha she was actually a little bit prissy. :snooty: She told me to sit up straighter right before the picture.

I'm glad you enjoyed 1900 park fare. We went to dinner there and thought it was ok. I think we'll try breakfast next time. Looks good.

I'm a little bummed that I only have 4 more reviews to do! So I'm thinking that after I am done with this dining report I'm going to go back in time and review the restaurants we ate at on our Disneymoon in September. I took pictures of the food but never did a review. :goodvibes

Just got caught up on this great review. Nice pics and good descriptions of the food choices. With regards to Sci-Fi, I love the place but I ALWAYS just order the milkshake, burger and fries. Tried a couple other dishes in years past but have determined that a burger and fries, and of couse the chocolate shake, are best for my taste. Thanks for doing this review.

What a totally awesome "food" review! (and omg it's too ate to be starving like this now! LOL)

I really loved all your photos- they almost make it look like the food is RIGHT THERE in my monitor- like I could take a bite (I wish!)

I'm so sorry you seem to have bad luck on the characters and fun servers! We've had the same thing happen so much to us (the only thing is we end up having to wait for the characters or finally get someone to get them to come back to us- we have kids who want to really see them plus I'm a stickler about if I'm paying THAT MUCH for the meal and we don't even eat that much- then by gosh we're seeing the characters and getting pics of our kids with them!) The only problem with that is with our luck- and characters missing us or having bad timing with us- that by the time we wait on the characters and such the meal takes a really really long time. I don't like giving up that much park time!! This has happened to us so much that the "fun server" type restaurants we won't go to again and we're skipping character meals this trip too. youngest DD doesn't know that yet- hope she doesn't start asking about character meals when we get there! We just have bad luck- we also have never gotten a towel animal at the resorts- not ever.. not even at GF concierge room!- not until our Disney cruise. LOL

WCC- no fun server for us either.
50's primetime- no fun server for us either.
We had to fight to get Lilo to our table at Ohanas... Stitch came by and Lilo totally skipped us!
We thought the food was awful (which stung since we also thought it was so overpriced) at SciFi's.
The only place that was exactly as expected (or better really) in terms of food, how much time it takes, how quickly the characters come by yet don't act rushed/etc. is dinner at 1900 Park Faire and lunch at Crystal Palace... the rest we haven't had great luck.

Awww, why's Mary Poppins being so prissy/bossy?
Well our 2nd trip to WDW we were able to get CRT breakfast (which we didn't think was all that awesome LATER after we did 1900 Park Faire on the next trip LOL) and I still remember our almost 3yr old... and so grateful to Mary Poppins. She talked her out of eating her mickey sucker until AFTER eating atleast some fruit for breakfast! (Our little one ate like a bird back then- hardly ever ate! But she wanted that sucker and no amount of "talking" about it was going to change that- and we didn't want to just take it away and have her pitching a fit on her special princess breakfast!! But Mary Poppins came around and looked JUST LIKE HER and was so sweet and whispered some stuff to our toddler... I forget the exact words she used but it was more the manner/tone she used and how believable she was that she was REALLY MARY POPPINS- she basically told her if she wanted to grow up to be a real princess she'd need to eat some breakfast before having that sucker- something like that... and the look in her eyes I'll never forget. Down went the sucker and she started grabbing and pointing at food she wanted. And she really ate quite a bit before wanting that sucker again! And we didn't even ask Mary Poppins to do that.. somehow she just knew -mind reader maybe? LOL- that we'd really prefer she ate some food and relinquish the big sucker for awhile. LOL

That Mary Poppins in your photo probably would have scared our daughter at that age. LOL
