Are rates set for next Feb.? I am thinking of making reservations for around that time, but I am not sure if they take them yet? I thought I would check here first before calling.

Yes, it is too early for February. CRO told me that the rates come out in May or June for 2004. Are you going President's week?

Yes, President's Week is the thought, because my wife is a teacher and cannot go most of the time.

I am a teacher too, so I am also forced to go that week. Do you know if there are ever any room discounts for that week?

Not sure. We have always gone during the summer. We are going on the Disney Cruise Line in summer 2004, so WDW got pushed to winter. To save money, we probably will go for the All Stars.

Check here for past discount codes/dates if you'd like to see what has been offered the last few years.

The 2004 rates have not been announced yet, so if you make your ressie now you will be quoted the highest (rack) rate for 2003. (at least that's what I was told)

Dreams unlimited offers to update your ressie when/if a code becomes available to get the lower rate for you. They will give you a rate quote via email if you're interested.

There usually aren't a lot of discounts available during president's week - it's peak time.

You can make reservations now even though 2004 rates are not out (we have made reservations for late feb/early march already). They will just tell you that the rates will be adjusted when the 2004 rates come out. Both travel agents and disney can make the ressies.

We were there President's week 2002 and the week after President's week 2003. Both times I made my ressie about a year ahead (so I could start making payments), was given rack rate for "Regular" season (for whatever year we made it in) and then as soon as the new rates came out our rate was adjusted. Both years I ended up adjusting the reservation when discounts came out. In 2002 the only discount available was AAA, DC and AMEX (paid 109.00 for POR). In 2003 there was AAA, DC and we were lucky enough to have a code rate too, ended up paying 119.00 at POR. These are great rates considering it's PEAK season. ~:D~

I have already made my ressies for next Feb. I am going the week prior to President's Week. Although the rates were not out at the time, I had to pay the highest rack rate, as someone previously stated. IMHO it's never too early to start planning your next WDW vacation!!
