we usually go in early october and use the resort pools, anyone gone in november? how's pool, too chilly?

We went in February and went swimming and enjoyed it. I think it just depends on the weather when you go.

We went the first week of November in 2008. During the day it was fine. At night, it was fine too, until you got out if the pool then you felt chilly. The weather that week was gorgeous. About 75-80 during the day, and 60-70 at night.

PS it's a great time to go! When we went, the Halloween decorations were up in the beginning of the trip and some of the Xmas decorations were up by the end. :)

We went the 1st week of Nov in 2009 and it was HOT,it felt like summer in the north east...it was cool enough at night a couple times for a light jacket or sweatshirt but we are sweating in all our day time pics and had some sunburn too

We went last November 10-16. Our first night at All Stars Music, the pool was nice and warm - very enjoyable for swimming. The second night, it was freezing - way too cold to stay in water for any length of time.

Our next 4 nights, we moved off-site and had wonderful heated pools with huge hot tubs so the swimming was great. A couple of nights, there was a cool wind so walking to and from the pool was chilly.

We've gone every year for the past 5 in Nov/Dec and swan everytime....it has bee 67 and we have swam and it has been 82.... I think you will be just fine.

we were also there the first week of nov 2008. the weather was perfect!! could definitely swim during the day. the nights cooled off tho so we didn't swim after dark. going the same time this year!!:)

Early November is a variable temperature time of year. Some years it still feels like summer, others like winter has arrived. I am sure the usual is that swimmming it still a go. I have been there in early November a handful of times and only recall once where it was just so cold no one was swimming. It was one of those troughs on the nationwide weather map that depicts a dip all the way down to Florida, bringing that cold northern air down to WDW. It warmed up a little more each day as the week progressed, but we left before it had gotten warm enough for swimming again. But overall the early November weather is real nice for walking around the parks.

We went Nov 1-9 last year. The first couple of days were great for swimming. Ditto for the day we flew home. The other days it either poured the majority of the day or a fluke cold front came down and dropped daytime highs in the low 60's and nighttime lows in the 40's.

We are hoping for much better weather this year! :wizard:

It's hit or miss on swimable weather in November, it also depends on your own comfort level.

The pools are heated.

We was wondering the same thing, we are coming from England so it's going to be much warmer at Disney then home!! But we love water parks and so was hoping the weather wild still be plenty warm enough, are usual time for going is September/October... And we love the weather at that time plus the Halloween decorations :cool1: next yr however we was thinking of going in end of October 1st 2nd wk in November, can anybody tell me when the Xmas decorations go up? And what type of season it is then example Value etc thanks :)

It depends as many others said, but generally its too cool for swimming early and late in the day with warmer more swim friendly temperatures from mid morning until the sun goes down. I used to live in the area and would send the kids to school in the morning with a jacket that would end up being left at school because it was too warm in the afternoon to be needed

As others have said, the weather can be unpredictable that time of year. It's been awhile since we've gone in November (2004), but we arrived 10/30-11/5 and I remember the weather being just gorgeous :goodvibes. It was low-mid 80s and sunny all week with not a drop of rain. We went to MNSSHP on Halloween night and it was fabulous, as was the rest of the week. That time of year is one of our favorite times to go :wizard:.

We always go in November, and if my DS doesn't go in the pool he will be very unhappy. Last year the lifeguard had a jacket and gloves and there was DH swimming and having a great old time!:lmao:

I think the Fall/Winter months can be pretty unpredictable - as all PP's said. We've been in November when it was NOT warm enough to swim...even for us New Englanders (who KNOW cold)...and we've been there in Feb when it's supposed to be cold and it was 80's the whole time, actually warmer than our Feb trip. I would just check the weather on-line before you go to get a better idea. :goodvibes

i guess we must have been in 2007 - in any case, it was very cold that year....
i loved the parks in that weather (MUCH better than in the summer), but it was too cold for us to swim....although there were some brits in the hotel pool...but they were the only ones..

That question is 95% what you're comfortable with, and 5% random weather variation. ;)

There is a hotel/waterpark that we go to up here fairly regularly that has an indoor/outdoor pool. The water is well heated, and we've been swiming outside in the evening many times when the air temperature was below freezing, and at least once when it was below zero.

When it's cool/cold out it's really not the swimming, but getting out of the pool that's an issue. Towel off quickly and have something with to throw on before heading back to the room and it probably won't be a big deal.
