Too Cheap for BBB

But the budgeteer in me is thinking, "How can I make my own hair paint like that????"

We're at Disney for 10 days. DD wears a uniform to school, so she just has the summertime to be wild and crazy with her hair. If I could figure out where to buy or how to make that paint, I could do her hair every stinking day! LOL!

But what about the glitter??? Is it regular glitter "glued" on with hairspray? Anyone know???

they have an aisle with tons of fun colors that wash out. The colors come in a spray or gel which ever you'd prefer. My friends and I would use this for pep rallies at school.

I don't think you can compare the two - The experience of the BBB is wonderful for some girls, maybe not for others.

Also - you cannot complare the price - at the Mainstreet Barbershop you are paying for a hairdo, that is it. at the BBB, for the $50 hairdo, you are getting the hairdo with nails & make-up done, the crown ($10), the sash ($8), 2 bottles of nail polish($3.50 each), make-up palette (I think $8) and a disney barrette( $10). As well as the experience of having the Fairy Godmother in training handling everything & a Photopass photog taking pictures & a Photopass session afterwards included. Big difference between the two.
Is it expensive? yes but worth every penny when I saw how happy my girls were & all the compliments they received.

And as for the person who quoted the $249 - come on - do your research - you know that is for the top of the line package with everything but the kitchen sink included. To compare that to the hairdo at the Barbershop?

I have 2 daughters. We did not do the BBB. We saw some girls who did. WHile cute-some of them were over the top. The hair styles was glued looking to the head and covered in sparkles, then a little crown was stuck to the head. this is in the June heat. What I did for my daughters was got to Libby Lu before we left town and purchase crowns. We pulled out the princess dresses left from halloween. I put no makeup on them-in 90 degree weather it will not stay on. I did there hair and we went and ate with the princesses. They were adorable this way. This pic was taken at Epcot.

I don't think the BBB makeovers can be judged by the way certain ones come out. I thought my dd was adorable with hers. I don't think her style looked glued to her head with a crown stuck on her head. It is a princess makeover. Look at the Disney Princesses. That is what BBB is all about. Giving each girl a peek into the Princess world. She had a wonderful FGIT that did her makeover! Some of the hairdos at the Barber Shop don't look too swell either so it really depends on who is doing it as well. We did the BBB DDD location and everywhere dd went, she was greeted with, "why hello Princess" It was magical. The do even lasted after we left WDW on our way home and she received many compliments on the trip home It was worth the money. I guess to each their own.

Well said! I agree 100% From the pics I've seen from the barbershop, you are getting some colored hair gel with sparkles like confetti with a Mickey head. BBB is so much more. Like you said, you are getting the "WHOLE EXPERIENCE" You dd is truly transformed from something that she normally doesn't walk around in. That is what vacation is all about. Experiencing things you normally can't experience. Being in a fantasy world. It includes the dress, plus 2 crowns, Mickey barette, depending on which style you do, nail polish, makeup, sash and the picture portraits are PRICELESS.

I think we paid about $45 for our BBB. We just did the hair/make up thing. She still got a goodie bag of stuff, a photo op at the little photo studio, and the experience is really cool.

This is what I did for my niece. For that price you get the hair, makeup and nails done (includes a hair piece your choice of color) a goody bag filled with the 2 nail polishes the make up that was used the other hair thing (I think) and a comb. I may be missing some stuff as I have a pretty bad memory. Plus you get the whole experience.

Just bring your own dress, shoes and accessories (crown and wand ect.) and there you go. A BBB experience for $45 dollars.

Not to bad if you ask me!
