TONY AWARDS 2014 - Any Broadway lovers out there?

Les Miz revival is opening in Melbourne shortly. I haven't decided if I should go see it again. This sequence is tipping the scales for me to get tix.

I felt the exact opposite. "One Day More" seemed extremely choppy to me. :confused3 It could be because they are not use to being on the stage of Radio City Music Hall. That stage is about double the size of the one at the Imperial Theatre, that is their home. You can even see off to the side, just before they cut to commercial, that they didn't use the full stage. All the way to the right was filled with an alcove, as they performed in a smaller set.

But, even giving them a pass on that, I was not impressed with any of the voices either. Especially Eponine. Very nasal! :headache:

I think that's why I was on the fence. The original Australian cast was amazing. I don't know if I want to lose the memories of that show yet.

Me too!!! That's exactly how I feel. ::yes::

I was waiting for that guy to also call her Adele Dazeem. ;) :lmao:

Adele Dazeem came to Melbourne last year for a solo concert. Tickets were $178. I passed up on the opportunity. I'm not sure if I'm sorry or not. I have such a love/hate thing with Idina.

Probably a good thing she has a second name now. Those who hate Idina can go see her as Adele. :lmao:

I either have to buy a plane and show ticket to NYC or wait for it to come to Melbourne.

You HAVE to be closer than me!!

I'm about an hour north of Detroit so yes, much closer than you are. I don't want to wait for it to come here I want to see THAT Genie!.

Popping in, I'm switching back and forth between this and the NBA Finals. Loved the After Midnight number. I also loved the musical. I wish I had time to see Aladdin after that number. I'm pulling for Audra's 6th Tony, she was brilliant in Lady Day!

Rocky on Broadway... who would have thought that would ever happen, and as a musical to boot.

I've seen the Aladdin version at California Adventure 4 times. The Genie was different every time but brilliant for each show.

But I think THAT Genie will be something special. I hope you get to see him.

Sadly, I won't count on him being in the Melbourne production; if it ever gets here. :(

I know! It's not like Rocky talked that much in the movie. :confused3 But, it supposedly has gotten good reviews. I really wanted to see what song they were doing tonight. I wanted to see the leads sing. I'm disappointed that they showed the last few seconds of the fight scene at the END of the show. And no one singing. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

To me, that's like last year, when they showed the finale number to Jesus Christ Superstar. Sure the actor singing Judas was fantastic. But, when they show you the END number, why bother coming to see the beginning 2 hours? :confused3 JCS closed a few months after that, I believe.

I like the Aladdin's "praise shout." :dancer: :lmao:

Glad you could pop and hop in!

Alan Cumming did a great job in that Cabaret number. :thumbsup2 Hard to believe he plays the stick up his butt, Eli Gold, in The Good Wife.
