Tonga Toast?

I think that server was grossly exaggerating the calorie count there. I agree it's a sugar shock, tastewise, but it can't be 3000 calories, if it's made like the recipe posted previously. Would have a hard time getting to be much more than 1000 calories: 1/3 cup of sugar is only 258 calories, couple of slices of bread=200 cals., banana=150 at most for a large, egg =100, milk=40...all that adds up to about 700 calories. Then of course you fry it, but it won't absorb 2000 calories of oil...maybe 250 more. Then sprinkle with sugar for a few more calories.

Even if you dump 1/4 cup of maple syrup on it, you're still going to max out at around 1200 calories.

So, bon appetit ~ whatever the calorie count, it's too sweet for me but it's not really like eating more than a full day's calories at breakfast:thumbsup2

Same here, I recommend the shrimp omelette - not on the menu but if you ask for it they'll usually make it.

AWESOME! At 1200 calories I can have 2 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Tonga Toast is delicious! I think about it often! Dh and I like to order an egg platter and a Tonga toast from Captain Cook's and share. I like a little eggs with my Tonga Toast. mmm mmm good!!

I love Kona for breakfast, but it's good to know that TT could be had as a sweet treat. I would assume at Capt. Cook's they only have it in the morning?
I know it's a breakfast item at Kona, but I have a feeling they'd cook it for you just about anytime.:earsboy:
