I think that server was grossly exaggerating the calorie count there. I agree it's a sugar shock, tastewise, but it can't be 3000 calories, if it's made like the recipe posted previously. Would have a hard time getting to be much more than 1000 calories: 1/3 cup of sugar is only 258 calories, couple of slices of bread=200 cals., banana=150 at most for a large, egg =100, milk=40...all that adds up to about 700 calories. Then of course you fry it, but it won't absorb 2000 calories of oil...maybe 250 more. Then sprinkle with sugar for a few more calories.
Even if you dump 1/4 cup of maple syrup on it, you're still going to max out at around 1200 calories.
So, bon appetit ~ whatever the calorie count, it's too sweet for me but it's not really like eating more than a full day's calories at breakfast![]()
Same here, I recommend the shrimp omelette - not on the menu but if you ask for it they'll usually make it.
