Tonga Toast Tweakage

As we dined at the Kona Cafe this morning, the waitress informed us that our beloved Tonga Toast was due for a tweak beginning next week.

She says the delightfully caloric treat will now be presented with a blob of strawberry something sauce on top. As a diehard Tonga Toast fan, I would request that on the side when ordering in the future.

It's probably strawberry coulis. A coulis is a form of thick sauce made from puréed and strained fruits. Sounds like it would be YUMMY!

If it's fresh strawberries or an unsweetened sauce, it sounds like it could cut some sweetness. Otherwise, I'll decline.

We have always preferred the Boatwright's version with the strawberry sauce. Now it sounds like Kona's will be just as yummy!

Ooooh, that sounds good. I've never tried Tonga Toast. Not being a fan of bananas, it just doesn't appeal to me. But *strawberry* banana is a whole different thing! I might just have to plan a breakfast at the Poly to try that after all...
