Yes, I hope she's truly prepared for what is coming. The fact that she did it without tipping him off first seems to me that she has a game plan. Filed in NY and not CA. He's out of the country. Like I said, seems like a game plan.

About time. The clause in their contract must be up! Just like the one with Nicole. Always felt Katie & Tom was an arranged marriage to cover up her being pregnant from either fiance or quick relationship before Tom. Tom is sterile, so Suri isn't his. Wouldn't be first Hollywood arranged marriage for such a situation.

you guys all said exactly what I was going too...great minds think alike! thing is tho...she sold her soul to the devil when she agreed to this whole thing, so for her sake, hopefully whatever clause was in the contract that allows her to bail and get what she wants will not fall apart. I can't imagine she entered into this mess without having an escape clause, that would have been the ONLY way to agree to it.

You're exactly right. The only reason for the court to check paternity would be if Tom wanted it done. Usually there is a time limit on that, as well. Since Suri doesn't know any other father, the court will uphold what's on the birth certificate.

I really think Katie will get sole custody becasue I truly believe that Tom is not the father. Look how much Nicole wanted children but she never had any with Tom that were bilogical and then when she gets with Keith- bam, she gets pregnant. I don't even think he will fight it.

IF Tom Cruise is listed on the birth certificate and they were married at the time of Suri's birth...he would be recognized as the legal father.

I'm not aware of the law where Suri was born (California?) but if they weren't married it may take an order to even establish him as the legal father regardless of that is on the Birth Certificate.

The easiest way would be if the (hypothetical) biological father stepped up and challenged paternity. Once paternity was established then that man could become the legal father instead of TC.

well there's the silver lining, I had no idea her dad is a divorce lawyer~now we know when Tom/Scientology was seeking out a spouse, that this is how Katie took the bait...she had a way out. I believe they were married in Italy...so I have no idea if that allows any wiggle room or not.

In CA, the statute of limitations to contest paternity is 2 yrs from the time of birth. I don't think either side will be able to use paternity in court, especially since Tom is her dad, as far as Suri is concerned.

Umm...I'm SURE Tom will be active in Suri's life. FRIGHTENINGLY active.

So much so that I pray KATIE will still be able to hold onto her role in Suri's life. Once the Scientologists have their claws in you, they have you and they are quite reticent to let go. Just look at Nicole Kidman whose children will have NOTHING to do with her solely because of their involvement in the "church". Nicole is an opponent of Scientology (or an SP...subversive person) and therefore the "enemy".

Katie will be lucky to have any involvement with Suri after the divorce.

Tom and Nicole's adopted dd, Isabella has reconcilied with her mother. People did an article on her and she has moved out of her dad's house, is 19 and living with her boyfriend in LA. Isabella mentioned that she sees her mom often and she travels to Nashville to visit with her and things are getting better.
