We were really looking forward to not hearing someone mention him in almost every broadcast this season. Just another reason to get out of the house on Sunday for golf or brunch and wine tasting.

I'd rather watch Brady play footbrawl than listen to the Mannings in their endless commercials and their commentary on ESPN.

Wouldn't be surprised if he did some test runs for the job as lead analyst on Fox and it wasn't as good as he hoped. Not every QB can be an Aikman or Romo and excel from day one.

I also hope this means that Greg Olsen becomes the new lead analyst on Fox. The guy is really good.

It's hard to leave when your play hasn't gotten bad yet...I always remember Mike Schmidt leaving mid-season from the Phillies b/c he had finally gotten bad, and he refused to finish a season and collect a paycheck when he wasn't a HOFer anymore...

He even said a few years ago that he'd stop playing when he sucked, which was why I was surprised when he announced his retirement. He just loves the competition.
