How much are the tolls in florida? We are driving from Chicago and need to know how much change to bring with for the tolls in Florida. TIA :thumbsup2

Depending on which route you take $3.00-$3.50 each way coming in and leaving the Orlando area.

#1. $3.00 route takes you from I-75 to I-4 (this is the toll section) you then take I-4 South to Epcot Center Dr/ World Center Pkwy.

#2. $3.50 rout is I-75 to the Daniel Webster Western Beltway, South on the Beltway to Exit 8, and East on to Hartzog Rd. This one of 'the back ways' into Disney, putting you at the Coronado Springs Resort and close to Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas. There is also one of the Big Welcome Signs at this enterance too.

I've taken both routes and prefer #2, there seems to be less traffic (arrivals between 12noon & 1:30) and I found the I-4 interchange to be a bit confusing.

PS. If you can try to avoid Atlanta at rush-hour.

The Florida Turnpike is the only major toll road that I am aware of. You can drive to WDW without paying any tolls and not much different via the trip.

Thanks OP for asking this question. We too are driving (for the first time) from just a little further north and were also curious about the tolls. I remember reading that there are no "manned" booths. So I'm assuming exact change is needed?

Also thanks for the "back" route. We are keeping this trip a surprise and were trying to work out how to get to the big sign!!

Hoping to get through Atlanta the first evening but will make for a long drive. 15 hours according to map quest.

Thanks again!!

On Florida's turnpike between I75 and the Disney exits, on the turnpike itself, there is one toll booth each direction which is manned - however some exits to get off the turnpike are unmanned. We have a FL Sunpass since we drive from the Chicago area to Disney around 4 times a year so I am not sure of the exact toll amounts as it haas been a couple of years since we had to manually pay tolls.
Illinois Ipass is not accepted by FL tollroads.

Please note that #2 is currently $3.75; $2.50 on the Turnpike and $1.25 on TOLL 429 (Western Beltway). Both toll plazas are staffed 24/7. SunPass saves $ .50 on either routing you listed.

We used 417 from WDW to MCO last Friday and the cash toll booths were still there. There was an exact change line on the far left where you threw change and several change/receipt lines.

I haven't used cash in a long time -- the Florida Sunpass gets you through the toll barriers at full speed...

Also, for anyone's information, Sunpass is not compatible with Illinois' I-Pass or EZ-Pass

OP not sure when you are going but if you have time get a Sunpass...we are driving from near Cincinnati and I ordered ours in early March...took about 2 weeks to get it and you can load it online. Definitely worth it as you save some $$ and you don't have to stop at the toll plazas.
